Is there any sort of health care coverage I could get being a new greencard holder and pregnant?

I need some sort of maternal health care coverage, and am ineligible for medicaid because I have had a greencard for less than 5 years.

Have you talked to your dr. in the US? They can recommend payment plans or programs that you do qualify for

You may be able to go on your husband's health insurance- pregnancy may NOT be considered a pre-existing condition for enrollment.

If not, talk to your doctor and hospital or homebirth midwife about self-pay and pre-pay discounts. We got a 30% discount for paying for all maternity care at the first appointment.

I am actually divorced now and just trying to make things work.

It's not looking promising. sigh.. canadian health care coverage is so much less hassle! I just cant imagine doing this WITHOUT the baby's father here with me. And he cant come to canada right now.

I just figured it would be so much easier to be in the Us with my bf and in my own apartment in the US for this. getting to the US after the baby is born is gonna take forever.

I would be working and getting health care coverage through work if I wasnt off due to pregnancy.

i just feel lost.
