Hey guyz! :)

NOA stands for Notice of Action. - this is what USCIS sends you to inform you on ur petition status.

RFE is Request for evidence - tittle speaks for itself I think..(hope u never get that! :) )

The I-864 is the Affidavit of support the US Citizen is filing to show he/she has the sufficient income to support the intended immigrant (for a while :P).

The DS3032 - Choice of Agent - is still not really clear for me since we are not there yet! (hopefully soon!)

And the NVC is the National Visa Center where they review your approved petition (after the USCIS stage) and from where they schedule the interview! (they also require some additional documents and send you some of those too :D )

Did that make any sense at all?? :D:P

Why u sait that RFE-hope to nver get that? What do u mean?

When we were in uscis we've been on this step already...everything was fine

RFE is not a pleasant thing in immigration process.

Let me explain with an example. Suppose, you missed to bring your flight itinerary and passport at the airline counter before an international travel.

Person in Counter (PIC): Sir/Madam, we cannot check you in?

You: why not?

PIC: You didn't bring your passport and itinerary.

You: What's your problem? I want to travel now. Travel is my only intention.

PIC: We need some documents for you to travel.

You: I am here personally to travel, then why the documents?

PIC: Can you please step back at the end of queue.

You: you did - this is first RFE

After some time, you reached the front of the line again

PIC: Where're your documents?

You: I don't have any. It is at home

PIC: Please bring them and come back.

This is second RFE. And you lost this flight as well.

Next day, you brought your passport and new ticket along with your physical body.

PIC: Show me your documents

You: Showed them.

PIC: Now you are all set.

Now, you cleared your RFE.

In this process, what did you learn?

Priceless, Loto!

Basically, RFE means that you haven't convinced the INSTITUTION that you have a genuine relationship and they need more proof... Since ur past that stage - no worries! :)

Nina&Plamen,

You are almost completed and don't have to worry about. Based on your timeline, your AOS and IV packages are reviewed by NVC for a while. Did you get any RFE in this NVC final process? If yes, what was it and did you respond back to NVC? Please update us to get better idea.

Check AVR or talk to NVC operator if your case is completed. Also, after 1 week or so, check your Consulate's immigrant visa section (online or by mail/call) if your beneficiary's interview is scheduled or not, by referring NVC Case#. Typically, Consulate will send an interview package to the beneficiary.
