Vermont allows any person over the age of 18 to carry concealed firearms without a permit or license. Allows the ownership of automatic firearms (YES, machine guns) and has no rstrictions on so-called assault rifles. Australia has 10 times the homocide rate of Vermont. Quebec is 18 times higher. BOTH have lower population densities than Vermont. Why?

There are many things more efficient than a gun...and we can all get a hold of them. I would mention a few but I'd rather not end up on some stupid list.

Well, I think that comes from a number of old threads where a number o firearm aficionados have attempted to relativise the effectiveness (and even the intended purpose of design of) guns to suggest that they are no more or less dangerous than anything found in the home and whether or not their designed purpose is as weapons.
