Hi

Im preparing Packet 3 for my son (1 year old).

As far as I understand he doesnt need the I-864 form..according to the instructions in that form:

one of the EXCEPTIONS is:

* Any intending immigrant who will upon admission aquire US Citizenship under section 320 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, as amended by the Child Citizenship Act of 2000

So ..why should I do... just send the Form DS-230?.. or maybe add a written explanation of the reason Im not sending form I-864?

What do you recommend me to do?

Any advice is welcome :) Thks

My understanding is the biological child of am American citizen born outside of the USA needs to be listed on the local birth certificate as having a American citizen parent, and then visit the USA Embassy, and register the birth as a foreign born American citizen. The child will then ride on the American parents passport to exit the host country and enter the USA.
