Just an FYI...I never got ANY emails even though the form was included. I ended up only getting the hardcopies in the mailbox. I must be one of those 'lucky' ones....my case status still isn't online either.

I won't mind if I don't get the emails, I just want the darn application to be accepted. We are going to honeymoon in beginning December so if anything else happens I will probably wait a month or two before filing. Otherwise interview could fall during the honeymoon.

Strange that your case hasn't come up online, I guess till it does, you don't have to worry about the 'touches' :)

Yeah I hear ya. Thats all I wanted to know too....that this time they accepted the darn thing. I've seen others not get their status to show up online either so I'm not worried about it. It was accepted and I got my biometrics appointment letter so its all good.

I know I am losing it... My package was received on the 9th of August in Chicago. Orginally I sent it in July but it was returned as I used the wrong I-485 form so now i am paranoid that I have made another mistake.. I was so paranoid that i completed all new forms and signed and dated them again. I didnt provide the evidence again just the forms just in case.

Can someone please confirm if a certified check for payment is acceptable? I notice people were reciving RFE due to a wrong DOB and singature on check. We didnt sign anything on the chqe. It was stamped orginally when I first sent it in but I sent the same check back. Will that be an issue?

I was offered a role so I am very anxious about losing this job offer while I wait for an EAD. I know that when you arrive into JFK they sometimes stamp your passport with a temporary work permit.. What are the chances of me going to an info pass appointment and requesting this? I am guess zero to no chance but thought i would ask the question just in case its possible?

USCIS Instructions

According to the USCIS website (link above) certified checks are fine.

Also the temporary work permit stamped in your passport is only valid for the 90 days from when you enter the country so it will probably of little help to you.
