What can I do while im waiting for NOA2?

Is there anything I can do while im waiting to get the NOA2(like fill out paper work) someone said you can fill out your ds-230 packages but i thought you had to wait to get those mailed to you

No, you can download DS-230 and fill it out now, you can also work on getting your police certificate and birth certificate (if needed)

you can gather some of the documents you needed too

have you been in abroad??? if yes you need to get a police clearance from what country you have been coz it takes time to get it...

so my wife fills out the ds-230 forms and signs them

then she fills out the DS-3032

these are the things i can do b4 i get the noa2along with form i-864 etc.

For the 3rd time, read the link I gave you. It outlines each step you and your wife need to do

The Ds-3032 is sent in first.

Then the Ds-230 but only part 1 is signed. Part 2 is signed at the interview after the oath - also giving you a chance to updat the form if necessary

Please go back to post #2, and CLICK the link - it'll open up another page here at VJ, and that link is safe, trust me, is no malware installed on yer computer.

If you can't click a link to open a page, well, sorry, that's a problem you'll have to solve on yer 'puter.

Once you've clicked that link, sit down with some big greenbar paper and a green crayon, take copious notes on 'what to do and when'.

LingChe is a great resource, absolutely - but it's 'content rich' and ya gotta read it, with emphasis on 'reading'. Will take several days to assimmilate all, using osmosis-technique to learn all that's there. But - once you've assimilated this info, you then become an NVC Warrior and can sling stuff into NVC with the utmost confidence.

Alas, reading is important, here - PPL went to great lengths to WRITE this information for others, in the hope that others would not only READ IT, but use this information to successfully rip through NVC in the shortest period of time.

It's up to you, really, to click something, and read.

I'm in the same boat, so rather than starting a new thread maybe I can just tack onto this one. I've read LingChe's Guide and have it "favorited" on my browser and will print out out. I received my NOA1 a few weeks ago and am also working to prepare for NOA2, and am hoping to be invited to "opt-in" for electronic processing. I have been trying to figure out, what is the difference between the police certificate and biometrics? I thought the police certificate was part of the biometrics.

I am the USC and doing the research for my hubby, so I have to relay the info to him as to what he needs to do in the meantime to ensure there's not a lot of lag time. If the biometrics are police certificate are not the same thing, should I see about him getting his certificate? I couldn't find anywhere how long it's good for, but I'm guessing about 6 months.

Biometrics generally refers to fingerprints which will be taken at your husband's interview in Montreal, so nothing for him to do ahead of time. (Very occasionally they are requested of the US petitioner as an additional security check but this is not the norm.)

If your husband does not have a criminal record a fingerprint check is not required as part of his police certificate. See this link and scroll down to "Police Records." Police Records - Canada

Generally NVC will accept police records that have been issued within a year but IMO it is better to wait until you have your NOA2 before getting the certificate. If you husband only requires a certificate from Canada (and not a fingerprint check) they are available fairly quickly. That will ensure it is as up to date as possible by the time you need to submit it. Good luck!

get all of your original civil documents in your hands. Make sure the beneficiry's passport is not about to expire. In other words, u should get the ds-230 ready to be mailed.
