hello there fellow filipina fiancees :) Kasi next month na ang interview ko sa U.S. Embassy. Nervous lang ako talaga kasi 20 years old pa lang ako. Yung fiancee ko 25 years old, Filipino rin siya but he's a U.S. Citizen and working in the U.S. Army. Laking U.S. siya and his whole family is living there. I met him since 2007 when he was still here in the country studying for college. Naging kami nung June 2008, nung time rin na yun bumalik na siya states to join the army. Pero ever since hindi talaga naputol ang communication namin. Lalo na nung training pa lang siya sa Army nagsusulatan kami. kasi They are given only once a week to call their families pero ako ang tinatawagan niya. And nung na deploy na siya sa Iraq, same din.. Every time may R&R siya umuuwi siya dito sa Pinas to be with me. This year twice na siyang umuwi dito. March 2010 siya nag file ng petition and June 2010 approved na agad. Walang hiningi na ibang documents. Then after ilang weeks may na-receive na ako na letter from the U.S. Embassy na pwede na raw ako magpa interview. So yun tumawag na kami. Ask ko lang, how long ang interview? and ano ano ang mga tinatanong? Kailangan ba dapat english ang bawat sagot? Haha.

Good day!!..Congratulations...good for you that you got your letter/packet from the embassy already..we are still praying&waiting for ours but we do have our Manila case already(thank God!!..)..hmmm..I'm 3 yrs.older than you ;) ...hehehe..but don't be nervous(we all "quite" nervous too!!)..have faith.. ...you can search for some questions at the internet regarding the interview questions(you can practice your answers.. ;) .)..well, from what I've heard, it does not take that long(some even said, it only took them 3-5 mins..very lucky..)..specially if you have complete documents and you can answer their questions of course..American Consulate officers will interview you, so basically you have to answer them in English..btw, don't forget to take your medical exam prior to your Interview(when will you have it??..just wondering..) :D ...just pray, do your best and everything will be alright!!...be blessed!!.. :D:D

Question for pookaphilus--How did you get information that the Embassy received your package on the 23rd of July?

I did get in touch with NVC and they said they mailed mine to the Embassy on the 19th of July as well. I tracked the date using DHL tracking but not sure in fact if ours was 1 of the packages mailed (since letter from NVC was dated 20 July saying they received my case). Did you call or email the embassy to confirm receipt?
