she can try to get a tourist visa. thats what i did bec my fiance cannot take a leave at that time so its me who have spare vacation leaves to take. but i got visited him before we filed the K1.

applying for a tourist visa is not a guarantee though but go and try.

You can apply for a B-1 while waiting on the K-1. My fiancee and I were both just looking at this ( luckily we have our NOA2 now! ) and when she inquired to the the consular they advised she not try to apply as it would likely be denied and could cause complications for the K-1. I'd heard previously it could cause complication, but many people on this site have said contrary so I dont know what to really say on that. On that same note, they have also said they are pretty difficult to obtain in some cases. Could be dependent on what country or the consular or other factors. You can always try though!

Shame there's nothing built into the K1 which allows you a couple of visits while it's being processed.

It's a big thing to do emigrate to another country (believe me, I've done it twice already and hopefully the US will be my third and final move), and the more time you can get to be there and be with your partner, the more it will reinforce in your own mind that it's the right thing to do.
