Hi Everyone,

I am going to send my AOS packet next week (ISA) and I am really confused about this I-693 business. I have read many posts and some say to include this form and some say to not. I got a copy of 3 vaccinations my husband (then fiance) got in Morocco and I am not certain if he needs more. For those K-1 AOS filers from Morocco, what did you do? I was going to go to a civil surgeon office but if my husband needs more vaccinations then they are going to cost an arm and a leg there. I would rather get the vaccinations he needs additionally at another clinic before going to the civil surgeon.

So I have a few questions:

1.What additional vaccinations did your husband/wife need to get in addition if he or she needed more? Which ones did he/she get in Morocco?

2. What vaccination records did he or she bring from Morocco? Mine are on some small professional doctor's note written in Arabic and French. Would I need this translated?

3. Did your husband/wife have to take ALL of his/her vaccinations again?

Any additional information you can provide for me will be fantasssssstic! Thank you!!!!

Zaytoona,

You absolutely should send the I-693 - we got RFE because we didn't. Yes, it's a pain to deal with it, but it's better to get it over with. I honestly don't remember which vaccines are required, and there could be more on there now than there were a few years ago. I'm not sure. I do remember my husband going to a 'regular' doctor for his chicken pox test, and he just got them to sign something to take to the civil surgeon.

I am fairly certain my husband was allowed to translate his note from his doctor himself. He didn't have to re-do any vaccines, since he had the note from the doctor. It's good you have the paper - we didn't know we'd need it, and had to call the doctor in Morocco, fax a signed request, and then have his brother pick up the note and mail it to us. That was a pain.

Oh - make sure to send a copy of the note from the doctor as well as the translation. Of course, always keep copies of everything!

Best of luck!
