Hello everyone. My sister is currently filing for the DS-230, but she has questions about question 43a. About 10 years ago when she came to visit me, she applied for one and obtained a SSN. If she checked yes, will it affect her interview and immigration status to the United States? From my understanding is that it should be illegal to have a SSN if you are not a resident of the United States. Should she check no and pretend she never applied for one?
