I just realized that I forgot to put anything on Question 22. I want the Visa to be processed in India. Is there anything, I can do to fix this issue before approval.

I know that once it's approved, I can send i-824 with extra fees to move to NVC. Oh God what did I do

reading the Question 22 carefully and based on that. I think it doesn't matter you fill the information or not for abroad consular. since they assign themselves.

NOTE: Designation of a U.S. embassy or consulate outside the country of your relative's last residence does not guarantee acceptance for

processing by that post. Acceptance is at the discretion of the designated embassy or consulate.

Hi Sumit,

I put n/a for question 22 and sent the form. Later realized I should have filled the city and country. I called uscis customer service. They asked me to send a letter to add the us consulate for question 22 along with the copy of noa1. I just mailed it today. They told me the same thing but it was "NOT ACCEPTED".

Actually, If you read the question 22 carefully. It says that it doesn't matter if you selected the City/State. It does not guarantee that that would be the place they get interviewed. hopefully I'm correct.. hehehe..

Keep me updated, How's your request goes.

You are right. But in my case Chennai would be convenient for my mom since it is closer. If you come across a remedy for question 22 kindly let me know.

Question 22 is kind of confusing since it started with "if"

Thanks

Did you hear anything from USCIS.

I found this information on web and it scares me now. If I'd have to file i-824, It costs another $350( i can digest that) and 3 months (oh NO)

# Q: What are the steps in Consular Processing?

A:

1. The USCIS (formerly known as the INS) forwards the approved immigrant petition (the I-797 Notice of Action) to the National Visa Center (NVC) if the alien has indicated his desire to apply for consular processing in an immigration petition. Otherwise, he has to file Form I-824 to request consular processing;

Hi Sumit,

if you look at this link that gives step by step directions for filling 130

http://www.***removed***/forms/i-130-petition-for-alien-relative.html

It says if the person is outside the US do not write anything for question 22. I think this should not be a problem. If they need more information they will ask for it. What do you think?
