I've noticed that most of the couples here met online so, just to be different, I want to hear from the rest, if there are any, who met in person. Share your stories, like how you met, what attracted you to them (phyically and emotionally) and what cultural differences and similarities you guys had and how you managed to stay together. :D

I'll share mine later. =)

I met my wife through an American I worked with, She is friends with his wife! After hearing him speak so good of his Filipina wife I made statement of wishing I could meet a good Filipina. A few days later he asked me if I was interested in meeting his wife's friend. I told him sure. 22 months later she is now my wife!

I went to the States to shop with some friends and met my fiance's roommate working at the mall! We ended up being friends and I went down to visit again and he introduced me to my Matt! ...Except it wasn't exactly love at first sight for me! hahaha I thought he was rude, but he grows on you and now he's as sweet as can be! And our friend that introduced us is going to be the best man at our wedding! (L)

I met my fiance in Israel in 2008; I had volunteered for the archaelogical dig he was co-directing and we met at the airport. It was instant recognition (as soapy as that might sound to some). He knew we were meant to be together, but I was scared, thinking we are coming from 2 different worlds etc. etc. In the end nothing mattered; distance, problems...everything was overcome in real partnership and now I can say I cannot wait to start the rest of my life with him (L)

We met while we were in a college in New York together. His roommate was a friend of mine. I met Mr. Sachinky while hanging out with his roommate in their apartment one day. He was dating someone else then and I was generally being a prat my junior year. However, after he broke up with his "girlfriend", -- I say 'girlfriend' because she was a really hot Asian chick who couldn't string together two complete sentences in English and I had no idea what he was doing with her, actually I do know -- any way, he asked me out after we made out one night in a drunken stupor, post a frat-party. He confessed that he'd had a massive crush on me -- my aloofness had attracted him -- right from the start but thought I was off-limits because his roommate was interested in me (he wasn't, we were just good friends and hung out all the time).

It wasn't supposed to be more than a summer fling but two and a half years later, we're now married after he proposed the March before graduation.

We met in Korea in 2005. I had just come out of a terrible relationship with another Filipina whom I had also met in Korea. 2 of my friends hog tied me and "peer pressured" me into going out with them. Alas, my wife was working that night. Neither of us believe in love at first sight, but things were different. She is 13 years younger than I, but is an old soul. She has lived more, and experienced more in her short time on earth, than most people experience in a lifetime. That being the case, I was immediately turned on to her maturity, and her jovial personality. We dated for about 6 months, and decided to take things to the next level. When I was due to leave, her "contract" was almost up, and we discussed where we head from there. She was intending to stay an additional six months in Korea, but I told her I didn't want her to stay. We agreed, and she left for Manila the day before I left for the States. We have had our share of ups and downs in the past 5 years. We filed for a K-1 in 2007, but abandoned it because of my work, and financial difficulties... but glady, on Feb 28 of this year we were married in Quezon City. I have started the CR-1 process, and am looking forward to her being in my arms for good. We share alot of common traits, and our beliefs on just about everything are spot on, so we have been blessed to have met our equals. She is my life, and my soulmate, and I know that the real fun has just begun.
