Hi everyone. I am currently trying to arrange documents for my interview. I just would like to seek suggestions better way to arrange docs? Is it good to put everything in a binder or just simply file them accordingly? When being called to the window, do we have to give all to the screener or only pulled out whatever they asked for? I would appreciate any reply. Thanks and God Bless us all!

I used an expanding envelope and it was convenient since there were labels for every flap and all I had to do was pull out the documents. I put my papers in folders just in case but the prescreener returned them since they already supplied a folder for my documents. I also color coded the papers with post its but you don't have to do that. I'm just obsessive compulsive that way. lol. Just hand in your papers. good.gif

I sorted the documents into 4 divisions.

DS Forms (You'll submit this at the cubicle right next to the entrance of the non immigrant section)

*I sorted them into 2 sets and used paper clips to bind them.

DS 156K
DS 157
DS 156

DS 157
DS 156

+ email appointment confirmation

Certificates (You'll submit these papers to the prescreener)

NBI Clearance
Birth Certificate
CENOMAR

Proof of Existing Relationship (You'll submit these papers to the prescreener)

chat logs
Skype call logs
emails
snail mails
Jordan's AT&T phone logs
photos

Evidence of Support (You'll submit these papers to the prescreener))

I-134
Letter of Employment
W2's
ITR
pay stubs

*Bring pay stubs cuz I made a huge mistake of not bringing any and it obviously cost me.

Good luck! good.gif

Toni

Thanks for the post JORDANTONI09 :) See I'm ####### with paperworks too :P Your post will help all of us still trying to organize their "80 pounds" of proof. Haha!

The good thing is that I was able to purchase a filing folder at National at Php240 which is helpful for us who's preparing for the interview. Lemme share some pictures.

See to your right -- you can slip the appointment letter in there and there's a pen holder.

Pockets for receipts. Right now it has my Cenomar, NBI clearance & Passport Receipts

And the organizer with labels on top.

Actually, It's Toni. Jordan's my fiance. I can't blame you, our names are quite androgyous. lol. Well, I hope my suggestion helped. My papers were arranged so well that I was entertained before the ones who came before me. lol.

@070809 Thank you! You don't need to bring such an overwhelming amount of evidence. You might want to trim it down. tongue.gif That's similar to the expanding folder I used. The file organizer that I purchased only cost me around Php140. That way, you can avoid the hassle of scrambling to look for the required documents or pulling them out one by one. From what I just saw, you're good.

Don't forget the BDO receipt! (blue one) You have to submit that as well.

Good luck, guys!

Toni (beneficiary) lol

I still don't have the BDO slips coz we're kinda delaying the process on our own

Might do medical and the interview by September as we didn't expect everything to be as fast and we were planning to marry by 26Feb next year, my mom's birthday.

And no, the 80 pounds thing was something I've read from previous posts so it became a funny joke with me and my fiancé. I don't think I can carry a whole person's weight on the interview anyways LOL!

Hey, we stalled for two months as well. rofl.gif I couldn't start my process because my work was election related so my boss and I agreed for me leave mid June in stead. You're getting married on your mom's birthday? That's sweet!

I know, I was kidding as well. Don't bring too much evidence unless you want scoliosis in your future. lol. During my interview, there was a lady who had a filing folder plus two big bags of paperwork. My mouth gaped. I assume she got approved for all her effort. lol.

That may possibly be the reason why the consuls are seated behind glass partitions. rofl.gif Visa applicants might have attempted to lunge at them in the past. lol.

It's fine, don't sweat it. I get that a lot especially when I have reservations because people expect a man to show up. lol. Hey, sometimes there's order in chaos. As long as you know where everything is, eh? lol. Do tell your lady to paste the photos on her forms to avoid the hassle of scouring for paste. She can submit the DS forms next to the entrance of the non-immigrant section as long as her papers are completely filled out.

Yes my apologies. I guess I should have expected that Jordan, a guy like me, would have just tossed everything in a big brown bag. hehe

@CATHYlovesRICK You can use the old Letter of Intent and just have your fiancé alter the date on it. I'm not sure if the signature has to be original. I'll get back to you on that. Phone records aren't necessary. Don't worry. tongue.gif Don't put them in scrap books cuz they won't fit in the slot. Either glue the photos on sheets of paper or just hand them in as is.
