Real Processing time for a Dominican I30

I checked the US immigration website to see my husband's case processing time. After selecting all the right fields on the pull down menus it calculates that the whole processing time will take 16 months. i know this is not true in real life. For instance, it says that the biometrics step of the process should be around 30 days after the application has been filed. It's been 9 months and nothing yet. I know that the reality of when my husband will arrive is more than 16 months. Can someone who has gone through the actual process of what i am going through tell how long will it really take?
