At the end of September I plan on driving across Cali and AZ to Albuquerque for a family reunion. I would like my Fiance to travel with me to meet my family and eat huge amounts of delicious food. My question is, what stamp or permission would we need if any? He already has his tourist visa and I just want to make sure nothing is going ot impede us on our journey there and back. Is there anything special that we might need for a 7 day trip across three states, as far as distance and time is concerned.

His tourist visa allow him access to the USA at the CBP and once he has an approved I-94 which tells him how long his stay in the USA should last- then he is free to travel any where in the USA that he would like - it be by air or land.

and would he have recieved this I-94 when he got his visa or is that something to be determined right before you go on a long trip?

the I-94 is issued at the border when a tourist enters

YMMV

Passport first

Apply for a B2 Visitor Visa at the local consulate.

Enter US, receive stamp in passport, I94 usually good for 6 months.

If asked, shows documents as proof of legal status.

Very similar to what happens in Mexico, you are more likely to be asked in Mexico.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
