Ok, so we got a RFE. They mailed it to my husband on June 28 (we didn't actually receive it yet) but the operator told us that it's just about the mistake that's made on my husband's I-864 form that we need to correct and send it back.

My question is: can we send it back right away or do we have to wait to receive the actual FRE in the mail and then send it back all together?

Send it back all togather. But request operator to send RFE via email. If possible they might and than you can speed up the process.

I suggest waiting until you have the RFE because often they require the cover page to be sent back to them. Further, there is often another address you send the RFE back to so you don't go through the regular mailing process (thus may be delaying your case)

Good luck.

You have to wait to get the RFE letter which has a checklist sheet with a bar code on it and an address. You send that bar coded sheet along with the I-864 to the address listed on the sheet. The sheet has to go on top of all documents.

Wait for the postal letter to be received.
