It's sooo hard not being with him! One rough day he said, "This one year that we're apart is going to be nothing compared to the lifetime we get to spend together once I'm there!" If I'm ever in one of my moods (wanting him here), I just think of this...it's sooo true!

I agree with you.

It gets hard though... haven't seen my husband since January and going through pregnancy alone is really hard for me since I'm even more emotional than usually lol.

But when I think of everything beautiful that's ahead of us, it calms me down.

We will get there :)

We will be celebrating our second anniversary in July (17th). I last saw my hubby face to face in 2008, and due to unforseen circumstances, we have not been able to file our petition until recent. This has been a long, hard road. For me talking to him daily, staying busy, taking care of my children (his stepchildren), and holding on to God's hand has helped keep my sanity.

MQ - sorry your AP is taking so long. :star:

If I count the days we actually spent together this past 12 months it would equate to roughly 6 weeks. Hang in there. I'm in the home straight now so don't think I'm discounting how you're feeling. I've been there ... it doesn't get easier, but you do become accustomed to it ... :star:

Just wanna share this difficult situation...

I had to come back to India, since I was on H1-B and can't stay in USA, as my employer was not providing job and asking for tax money. Another case of 'H1-B consultants'. Those who have suffered will definately get what I am talking about. So.....

I am totally agree with you, as I am in same situation here. Infact I have been seperated since 31st march 2009. I still remeber those moments when she came to drop me off at the airport. She was deep in shock that day. I called her after sometime (finishing security check and reaching to gate), and she was going home in the car, and was explaining me that how she is going to stay without me. While talking she reached home, and as soon as she entered home, she just cried out loud, she told me that home is lonley without your presence. I never dealt with this difficult situation, where solutions is far away, and you just can't do anything other than waiting. Another dillema is that she is on her own, no other relatives are there with her. I was like how she is going to stay all by herself, but as time passed everything just went on it's way and when I look back, it's more than 1 year now.

Now I have to wait until this NOV-DEC 2010, to wait to see her again. Hope Our I-130 approves soon. I hope no one has to go through this kind of seperation.

Good Luck.

My wife and I were separated from one another since May 2006. We recently got married in the Philippines in Feb 2010. We spend a healthy chunk online, but have gotten to the point that we will see this through no matter what. Time away does suck, but every day is a day closer to being together forever.

Dj's baby- I left Peru when I was 8 weeks pregnant (Aug. 2008) and when we realized that he wasn't going to be here any time soon, I went back to Peru 32 weeks pregnant (Jan. 2009) and had the baby there with him. It sucked and I felt like I wasn't even pregnant (except for the obvious things). It was nice for him to get to feel her move in my tummy and see her on the screen finally. It was also nice to have him there for the birth.

My daughter and I left Peru last July 6th (when she was 3 1/2 months) and that was the last time we have seen each other in person. It is really hard for both of us but I block all of my emotions so that I don't cry every day just thinking about how much it sucks that he hasn't seen her since she could barely hold her head up and now she is running and saying words and singing and doing all kinds of stuff.

We talk on the phone some times and not online some times. We used to talk more but he works from sun up to past sun down so when I am putting our daughter to sleep, he is getting off work.

Your stories made me cry cause I can relate to them. We wanted this baby so much, but we were naive and thought this will be over soon and that we will go through the pregnancy together. It gets so hard and I'm trying not to stress out cause I don't wanna stress out our unborn baby.

It's not the same without him... I'm sending him ultrasound pictures of the baby every time after the doctors appointment, but it's just not the same. He wants to be with me, be there for me cause this pregnancy has been (and still is) very emotional for me, he wants to see the baby and feel him kicking me... and he can't. It's sad and it gets really hard.

We're still hoping we will be together for our baby's birth.

It's so sad your kids can't be with their daddies and that your husband's can't watch them grow. They grow so quickly and I really hope we will all be reunited with our families soon cause this is so painful.

We need to support each other, keep the faith ladies (L)

Last time I've seen my husband in person was on March 5th 2009. I think we are coping pretty well considering how long we've been away from each other. We use Skype whenever we can, but the time difference (I am 9 hours ahead of him) is making things even more difficult. Since I've waiting out my 2 year home stay requirement I still have a lot of time left to be here. Honestly, when I think about the time that has already passed, I am surprised I haven't gone completely crazy. I always think of my husbands grandparents who were also separated for years while grandpa was in the service during WWII- now, that HAD to be a nerve wreck for grandma. I think about that, and my situation doesn't seem too bad at all :)

Hello, I wanted to reply though I am not married YET, hope it's okay that I post my feelings here too.

kucencemacence, I feel your pain for sure. Me and my sweetie spend almost our entire evenings when possible on Skype. Just the other night, we spent 5 hours just chatting away. This week he is away for a few days, and I already miss him so much. There are nights we just share screen and watch a movie together just as if we are right next to each other LOL. There has been many sleepless nights for sure and the tears to follow. I fear the day of the interview, I fear those words of "denied". I honestly believe, if Mohammed is approved I will cry and weep for days on in with pure happiness. It will be an amazing feeling to share my days and nights and do all the things, like vacationing, taking walks in the park, having picnics, or just sitting at home watching scary movies. I have been very lucky in the past 19 months to see Mohammed 5 times in Casablanca, with the last two visits being March and May. I plan to travel again in October once Ramadan is over. Who knows maybe I will be bringing him home with me if his interview is approved. good.gif

So I am in the same boat as those of you married. I look so forward to being his wife some day. If for some reason his interviewed is not approved, our plans are to have that lovely Moroccan wedding next year.

Have a great day!

I go back every so often, work remote whilst I'm in China. we do stuff together in China, visit her relatives, all whilst I'm doing business remotely... It averages one month in three, but I've been there three months at a time, before, also.

We aren't super-fast ppl - we decided to 'hold off' in filing, to play the 'IR-1' waiting game. It's working out OK so far. We're a middle-aged couple, so concepts of 'super-fast' or 'get it done now' just don't sway our decision to wait out, for the IR-1 and 10 year GC.

Sure, it's hard some times - I remember the first time we found out she was pregnant - I wasn't in her city.. I went back on schedule, then she lost the baby 2 weeks after I arrived - that was heartbreaking for us, I can't imagining living through that, remotely, over the wire. No, non, bu hao, splat, NO.

We've been prepping for twins, she's been on some special meds for a month, careful 'care' as well, and we're trying it all again next month. We are 'dead-set' on twins, are timing the interview date around the 5th month of pregnancy.
