Hello, after a visa is approved is it better to get my fiancée here to the states on a round trip ticket or can I just buy a one way ticket for a couple hundred bucks less? Anyone every had problems because the ticket was 1 way?

There is NO stigma attached to not having a return ticket.

If you look at the logic of the IO, there may be an eyebrow

raised if there is a 2-way, because after all, you're coming

on a fiancee visa but you're only tentatively going to remain

in the States? They may ask why there is a two-way and

the reply may be "I have to attend my sister's wedding."

Whichever is cheapest; 1 ways will often be 70%+ the value of a 2-way,

so they will seem to be more expensive for what you are getting,

but only if you have a DEFINITE DATE for a return visit (some family

event that she HAS to be at) would I go for a 2-way, because in the

end you're only going to end up buying a one-way for her to return

to the States.

My wife came on 29 December on a 1-way and I'll be buying

a 2-way for her visit to her son's university graduation in July.

In view of all the unrest that took place in the spring, we would have

been on pins & needles wondering if the graduation ceremony

might be cancelled on account of the violence if she had come

on a 1-way in December.

Sometimes it's better not to plan too far ahead.
