K-1 - right ? NVC doesn't keep them for more than a few weeks.

Have the USC person (yer fiance/e) call NVC Hotline in about 5 days from now, get a HUMAN, and inquire about case status.

Get the NVC/Vancouver case #, as well, from that NVC Human.

Then - about 2 weeks later - call DOS HOTLINE - get a Human, and inquire on case status with the NVC/Vancouver case #.

Then call about once a week thereafter - at some point, DOS HotLine Human will know that the casefile is received.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Hello..

To reach the National Visa Center (Immigrant visa inquiries) call: 603-334-0700 or e-mail: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. 5-7 days after the date on your NOA2. My boyfriend sent them an e-mail with case number and the day after that he called and they told him our documents would be sent to embassy later that day. Day after that NVC sent him an e-mail (inquiry reply) which confirmed that they sent our documents to embassy. We checked DHL shipments and found ours. This is how to check DHL shipments:

1. Go to: http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef

2. In Reference, enter the info as follows:

EXP DD MMM YYYYA

EXP is constant

DD is the date before the day the NVC said they shipped the case.

MMM is the three letters representing the month the NVC shipped the case

YYYY is the year the NVC shipped the case

A is constant

For example, if the NVC says they shipped the case on June 7 2010, this would be entered as "EXP 07 JUN 2010A"

3. Date range for shipment - From: Enter the date of the day NVC said they sent the case (June 6 for the case above)

4. Date range for shipment - To: Enter today's date

5. Keep the rest of the fields blank

7. Once you enter the info, press "Track"

8. After a while you will see a list of all of the packages that left the NVC today. You need to search for the specific consulate.

9. When you find the shipment the corresponds to your consulate, you will see the tracking number that you can record.

10. You can then track the shipment from the NVC to your specific Consulate.

Remember the spaces in the reference. You might have to trawl through the pages to find your shipment.

This information is pasted from another thread, but I have tried it and it works. Once the embassy gets your documents you can contact them by e-mail or phone.

Good luck.

Hi W.C.

In response to your comment on our profile; I haven't done any checking as to the consulate in Van. BC. Just waiting for packet 3 to arrive, will probably imquire soon as I will have to do a change of address for my fiancee soon. If you find out about your status I would sure appreciate an update. Gary
