Hi guys, I need help on how should my wife answer to my job history.

Here is my work history.

Nov-2005 to Jan-2007 = Kelley Services hire me to work for Intel.

Feb-2007 to June -2007 = Intel hire to work for them, in June economy down got layoff.

Aug-2008 to Now = Intel hire me back.

IF the CO ask my wife where do I work now and "how long", what should she answer? For how long, should she answer them only from Aug-2008 to now which is about 18 months? Or should she include the recent years from 2005 to now? I want to make sure she answer them right so the CO dont have an excuse to deny her again.

Thanks all

I have NO experience, but I would say that if your wife can explain it just as you have then it would seem that she knows you very well. I don't see how it could harm you if she replied with those dates and the reasonings behind them.

Again, I have NO experience. I'm sure someone more helpful will come along....Best of luck...

Andy,

IMO, your wife should answer simple and clear, you working for Intel company from 2005-Now. Period.... don't give them so much Info. about you. And, they will start question... why and why.. your husband got laid off, and re-hired... why they laid him off....

Just my 2 cents..

I would recommend telling her to phrase it this way...

"He currently works for Intel as a ______. He started working with Intel back in Nov 05"

It's honest, and there's no room for additional questions.

I totally agree with Linda's statement, it is true and honest, and this is the exact way Binh told my situation, It was slightly different, but the same because I worked for one company since 2001 but took one month off in the middle for personal reasons, and after she answered it the CO moved on to the next question without questioning her answer one bit

Thanks for all your advices,

My questions if she said I work from Nov 2005 to now, my concern is if the CO look at my tax return on 05-07 intel wasn't on it, only Kelly Services is. Will this raise red flag to them? This was what the CO ask my wife on her first interview.

She have on Feb 2008.

CO: Where do your husband work?

My wife: He work for Intel

CO: How long have he work for Intel?

My wife: two years, but ther was a short time he got layoff.

CO: Why he got layoff?

My wife: Because the company was down.

CO: Why the company was down?

My wife: Because there is no production.

After that, the CO said on the white slip that my wife dont know about my work. I dont understand what went wrong there. Unless the CO look at my tax and don't see Intel on it. That's is what I think but not sure.

What do you guy think??

The words for and At could have been changed.. You worked At Intel since 2005 with brief periods of interuption due to temporary layoffs... The primary employer was Kelley but now Kelley isnolonger in the loop and you are working directly for intel rather than indirectly as was the case initially.

The cause for layoffs had to do with the economy and production at the facility...

This will reply back to my first post, DON'T GIVE THEM TOO MUCH INFO.

don't give them so much Info. about you. And, they will start question... why and why.. your husband got laid off, and re-hired... why they laid him off....

CO: Where do your husband work?

Back in 2005 - Present OR Answer 5 years back in 2005. Move on to next questions. This is your weekness, when answer to the CO, your wife has to feel confident to Answer YES, or 2005-Present or 5 Years. You need to train, and talk to your wife. Don't let the time you get laid-off period get into her way. This is what bother her most????

We are on the same boat. I work for my new company 14 months before my wife interview. But, I was a temp more than 10 months, also working for Kerry Service. When come to interview I told my wife only 1 answer is I work for Western Digital 2 years. Period.. move on to next question.

It works great for me. Good luck.

I guess I'm a little confused as to what you're trying to get an opinion on...

Are you preparing a response to the denial? Or are you getting opinions from VJ members to help your wife overcome the questions she was asked in the first interview without being contradicting?

Please clarify so that we can help you address your specific issue.

I just want to get opinions from VJ members on how my wife should answer when the CO ask how long do I work at my current job. The employment verication letter I get from my my compnay stated that I started to work on Aug 18 2008 to current. If the CO ask how long do I work at my current job, do my wife answer them from August 18 2008 to now?? or do she include the years which I work for Intel before I got layoff?

They asked how long you have worked there, so that should be her answer. As soon as she gives additional information that is an open door to ask further questions she may not know answers too.

If your work letter says from august 2008 until present then that is your answer, if they ask why it is different from the first interview, confront that question when it comes, but dont give more info for them to keep digging. My opinion, or you could answer it how I posted earlier either way it is your choice, but if your employment letter only states since 2008 then that should be your answer, in my employment letter it stated my original hire date, then the rehire date so that is how Binh answered it, if she says differently than what you have evidence of it gives them room for doubt. But again this is jut my opinion Jerome
