Hi VJ Family,

I know it has been 7 weeks that my wife has arrived in the USA. We are doing fine and she wants to work now. Any advice on how long the job process could take for her.

It all depends...

What is she specialized in and how many years of experience does she have?

In general, experience outside the US doesn't get counted as experience in the US.

That's true...

At first i wanted a career change but after months of looking for a job in entry level positions, i know realise that it would be hard since as stated certifications and job experiences here really dont add up to the same thing.

She'll prolly have to take some classes like i plan to do, while job hunting at the same time.

Good luck.

Hi MyJam I hope you and your wife are adjusting ok. As for the job process it all depends on the type of work she is looking for and what skills she has. My hubby just got a job and he got his work permit in April. Good Luck with the Job Hunting Process
