I admit it. It's true.

Michelle and I have been carrying on for many months now.

I keep telling her we should break it off. I've asked her to think about Barack and Sasha and Malia - I really don't want to be a homewrecker.

But she's simply smitten by my nutsack, and can't get enough.

If the President can deceive and cheat on his wife, he can do the same to the other 300 million of us.

Unfortunately, the President is supposed to be a role model, whether he likes it or not (so why the President has to be a politician is beyond me). So, do we care personally? No. Does the country care as a whole? Yes.

It's the nature of the game.

It's the nature of the game for people to be swept up in tabloid hysteria. The media makes a living off of that kind of thing because its frankly easier for people to get to grips with issues of personality than with politics.

No.

I don't care about the marital goings on of sports players, media personalities or politicians. There is unfortunately an expectation that the electorate place on politicians such that they are often forced to behave in ways that are unnatural in order to persuade their electorate that they are 'fit to govern' - I don't see too many top politicians who are play boys or even just normal people who don't want to get married and yet in other walks of life these people are perfectly successful and certainly in business they are not judged by their ability to stay in a happy marriage or not. Unsurprisingly therefore, when the inevitable happens, and politicians behave like the emotionally mixed up human beings that many people are the finger wagging, tut tutting electorate are shocked.

Some people, politicians included get married, and are able to maintain strong and healthy marriages and some do not. Some politicians behave honorably and are honest with their spouses and some are not. Sometimes we find out about their dishonesty and sometimes we don't. At the end of the day, they either do what they pledge to do in their manifestos or they do not, but I really have no interest in what they and their spouses get up to.

I care. Its speaks volumes about the character of the elected official. I assume Michelle and his kids care(if theres any truth to this story). What kind of man would do that to his family.

You can answer that. You know people who have cheated on their wives, everyone does. It speaks nothing of their capacity to govern. If you want a personality contest, go become a judge in a pageant.

What happens is you get these ridiculous stories in tabloids based on rumour and gossip. It's pointless and a waste of everyone's time. Of course the wife should care - or the husband if it's a cheating wife but to expect politicians to be above normal human behavior is to be constantly disappointed. Now, if someone is accused of fraud, that's something much more pertinent and telling.
