And neither is California for millions of years :P

I googled and we're both wrong. Something about the way the San Andreas works, Kali isn't ever going to fall into the ocean. What will happen though, is Kali will eventually go hit the Aleutian trench.

So instead of falling into the Pacific you're gonna become Palin's neighbor. I don't know which fate is worse.

So will that qualify me to run for president when I can see Russia from my house?

The coastal area of california is on a different tectonic plate than the rest of north america, so yes we are shifting north, at a rate of like 1 inch per year. So when sh!t looks like the jetsons around here, we'll be where Frisco is.

How La La Land. "Oh, I am going to drive to 'Frisco' for the weekend."

I live on the part of California that is staying. We will wave to all you Southlanders as you pass by, and fall into the ocean.

Don't be jealous bill. Just because you live in the taint of california doesn't mean you can't move back to L.A. :P

The SWP provides irrigation water to farms in the San Joaquin Valley, and is a major source of supply for cities in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and other parts of southern California. In addition, the SWP serves cities in Napa and Solano counties through the North Bay Aqueduct, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties through the Coastal Aqueduct and communities in Alameda and Santa Clara counties through the South Bay Aqueduct. The project is operated by the California Department of Water Resources.

Whoa there sparky, calm down. Why do you jump so quickly to homosexuality? You trying to suppress your latent feelings? That is something for you and your husband to work through.

But back to Oklahoma, you can build cheap houses and have your unskilled labor jobs. But that doesn't change the fact that Oklahoma is a shithole.

Moody's Economy.com:

Oklahoma City Economic Outlook

Strengths

* Housing market has avoided the bubble/bust.

* High standard of living; quality of life is better than average.

* Good prospects for life sciences and IT.

* Strengthening demographics.

Weaknesses

* Weak city and state fiscal conditions.

* Poor track record at increasing educational attainment.

Los Angeles Economic Outlook

Strengths

* Numerous international companies in various high value-added industries.

* Global links through entertainment, travel and tourism, and fashion.

Weaknesses

* Weak local and state fiscal conditions weigh on job markets and recovery.

* High business and living costs lead to out-migration of workers.

ETA: LA is in the 3rd quintile when ranked by employment growth. OKC is in the 4th. But if it makes OKC feel better, my metro (Edison, NJ) is in the 5th quintile. Goddamnit.
