Can imply good. Typically this means you won't get an interview. =)

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

I heard it means good news, some people who had interview at the embassy will be transferred to California, ussually resulting in a Green Card without interview. My friend who came on a K-1 visa had this happen to her.

Nope, those documents seem to vary significantly in length and not be dependent on the AoS transfer.

Not necessarily - they aren't really linked. But the EAD and AP shouldn't take longer than 90 days.

When you get transferred you generally wait a couple extra months then people who get an interview...

I've not seen evidence of this. Seems to be fairly equal actually (about as equal as it can be since everyone's case is different).

It is true that being transferred doesn't mean instant approval however - most folks do continue to wait after being transferred - they're just waiting on the approval and not an interview.

For example my EAD and AP were approved in mid-August and then my Greencard was approved in November. Most people who filed their AOS in late June that had an interview, had their interviews in Sept/October... while those who got transferred to CSC waited to hear about their approvals in Oct/Nov.

Does that make sense? The EAD and AP are all you need to live and work, so it's really no biggie to wait a bit longer... I preferred it to having an interview.

My evidence is my own personal experience along with a few others in my AOS month. Many people got their interviews 1-2 months before the CSC approval. Maybe things are different now, I haven't checked that forum in awhile... but it's definitely true and there is evidence in the past.

Not sure how the selection is done, but a lucky few in each month do get their approvals before others with interview. I filed in January 2010, was transferred in early February, and got my approval in late March. There have been others in my month in the same boat as me, but at the same time, there are others still waiting.

In general, I think it's all based on luck.

interesting... it seems as though people that have been transferred are receving there AP and EAD within 2 months is this accurate?? or is this the case with most people in the recent months... this wait is horrific, not only do I want to work, but would like to book a cruise with my hubby... but if it is 2 months then I have 1 to go... but I will not hold my breath haha

EAD and/or AP processing are not connected to the AOS (or being transferred). EAD takes anywhere from 30-90 days (usually somewhere in the middle of those two numbers) - AP can take that long too but usually doesn't. :star:

Hopefully, you'll be a lucky one and get the EAD/AP approved in 50-60 days from your file date and your AOS approved in a month from your transfer. From what I've seen from VJ examples, there has been a slowdown of approvals since mid-March, but hopefully, it will pick up soon.
