Unless things have changed there should be no issue with checking the "I do not intend" and writing below "N/A - K-1 Visa process for permanent residence".

We went through Vietnam which is a particularly difficult consulate and had no issues.

I am not making any "specific" contributions. The intention of a K-1 visa is that your fiance(e) will marry you and you will support her. Many people chose to check this either way and I have not heard of any K-1 issues with either. Typically the issues are related to income and the petitioners ability to meet the requirmenets established in that regard.

May be best to check with others who have recently gone through your particluar consulte to see what the current trends are among the CO's.

I think they might be misleading you.. The I-134 does not need to be notarized.. You just need your hubby's financial documents, tax transcripts and some backup material just in case.. Bank statements, paycheck stubs, etc.

can i just asked if the $18 3 call in US embassy means every call is $18??so it means 18$ per call??or the 3 call is $18?No matter how long you talked to them each call??

it depends on the consulate.. the new form does not require notarization, but some consulates are slow to adjust requirements as the old fom did.

But also there's the direct line that the USC can call: 011-63-2-301-2000 extension 5184 or 5185. Then you just pay the long distance and not the $18... But I think for actually scheduling the interview they want you to pay the $18...

Jared and May is right, your fiance needs to pay the $18 for the pin, so he can schedule your interview appoitnment. He can use it 3 times.

I call the 301-2000 whenever I would inquire about some things. Like when I made an inquiry about the status of my visa yesterday morning.

I actually scheduled my wife's interview using that phone number. That phone number is a direct line to the immigrant section of the USEM where they do the interviews. On the other hand, the PIN phone number is only a call center where they go by a script. At the call center, the standard script answer to any question is: "call back in two weeks."

Dammit.... always another way to do something.... Wish I had known this before I shelled $18 for that PIN. I am still happy it only took one call to get an appointment. But it always nice to svae few bucks if you can...
