Ok, so after yesterdays disasterous AP news, I was wondering about something, and I need the big brains here to help me out.

I got my South African police clearance last year in June (Took FOREVER and cost a couple hundred in mailing and processing). I live in Canada as a PR. I havent been back to SA since I got the police clearance from them. If this AP goes on longer than June, are they going to request a new police clearance from South Africa and Canada? Or does the fact that I havent gone back since my old one mean they wont ask for it?

Please help, I know Im probably being all panicky for nothing. But if I can be pro-active with this I will. I just dont want to waste the money uneccesarily if you guys think that they wont ask for it anyway.

Thank you!!

Coralie :help:

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

Hey Coralie, I have been following your case since quite sometime now and I must say, you are a very brave person! My best wishes go out to you and I hope you get through this asap!

As far as your question goes, I am a LPR in Canada too! In terms of new/renewed PCC's, they might ask you from Canada as well as South Africa as we all know that the validity of a PCC for consulate purposes is a year.

I hope they don't ask you for any additional documents as you have already supplied them with the relevant things they need to process your case.

God forbid, and if they do ask for the PCC's, you can actually go to the SA consulate in Canada and get it from there! I got one for my country and it costed me about $35/- with the mailing costs.

I hope this helps! My prayers go out to you!

Ok, called the DOS, she says they are looking at my case, but havent processed the additional documents yet.. ARG. Could someone not speak gibberish and tell me what the heck is going on!!!

I dont know if this is a good or bad thing, should I be celebrating that they are at least looking at my case? Should I br freaked out because im in AP?

I think I'm losing my marbles.

In my opinion you should be celebrating because they are looking at your stuff!

Last time you called there was no record of that.

Don't let the term Administrative Processing freak you out. It is a catch-all phrase used in U.S. immigration - it doesn't necessarily mean you will be in immigration limbo for years.

When I had to submit additional documents to NVC and I called to inquire....I was told they were doing administrative processing - just meant they were looking at the documents.

Hang in there!

Good news is, you can always buy more. ;)

If they "haven't processed the additional documents yet," I wouldn't panic yet. What you've provided additionally may be enough; they just haven't checked them yet to be sure.

Lol, after 3 and a half years, I think I can officially classify myself in "immigration limbo". Im feeling somewhat positive about things though. I suppose its just a wait and see game. Im just not good at waiting, or feeling this helpless!

Thank you though Trailmix, I feel a little better :)

Hey Cora,

Hang in there mine is in AP as well. I sent you a private message did you ever get it? I called the Dept of State today and nothing has changed, but the lady told me that his file was touced this month. So my fingers are crossed.

When you love someone from the bottom of your heart; so much that you are willing to give your life for your loved one, time and distance takes a backseat. Only love prevails. And with love in your hearts you can overcome anything.
