Post-Decision Activity - USCIS My Case Status

Good day to all! I've seen how VJ is helping many people in their respective cases so I thought of joining you here. Our case is already in the Post-Decision (2nd to the last circle) as shown in the USCIS My Case Status. I've already received the NOA2 (approved petition for my spouse) and I understand that the next steps would be taken care of the NVC and the US Embassy Manila.

Would there be another background check (similar to the Initial Review - 2nd circle in the USCIS My Case) by the US Embassy Manila when the papers are already being processed in the Philippines? Or everything has been checked already in Manila during the Initial Review?

Thank you and Happy Easter to everyone!

If there is another background check, it would be ordered by DOS, not USCIS. This status on a visa petition, simply means USCIS has completed their portion of the process.

thanks pushbrk, perhaps you mean the u.s. dept. of homeland security who will order the background check.

No, I mean the US Dept. of State, specifically a Consular officer would order any "further" background checks. NVC does a final name check as well. NVC is also DOS.

hi pushbrk,

my spouse had sent back the ds-3032 (he made me his agent) as i've also paid the aos fee. we expect the ds-230 in the next few days. i just want to know how the nvc does its background check in manila (i.e. for my spouse's birth, marriage, employment, children's birth cert.

They do it any way they want. Why do you ask? Are you trying to conceal something? If so, don't count on it.

no, we're confident everything's ok, even if they check all docs/records. i'm just hoping the process would be quick so as this sometimes delays the process as i've seen in some experiences of others here in vj, especially those from phils.

It's quick unless there's a problem. Then it can vary widely up to a few months. This is why you do not buy airplane tickets, quit jobs etc. until the visa is in hand.
