Ok, so Im expecting 2 things in the mail... my daughters SSN and my visa... Anyone else who applied for a CRBA for their children, did they send it registered mail?? I got her CRBA, and her passport im just waiting on the SSN. I didnt give them an expresspost envelope for that though. And my retarded self never did write down the tracking number from the envelope that I left with them at montreal.

Im FREAKING out and I can only go and get it on monday!! BOO!! But if nobody else got their childrens SSN number through registered mail then Im pretty sure its my visa!!!

Stupid delivery notices :(

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

Oh Coralie,

I do so hope that it is your visa! That would be perfect. I hate to suggest this but is Monday a holiday for the Post Office? Does your post office by any chance have Saturday morning hours when you can go instead?

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Unless they produced the visa before your congressman even got involved? And they haven't got around to responding to the inquiry yet? It's possible! Not the most likely scenario, but you never really know.

I have my fingers crossed for you as well! I really hope you receive good news tomorrow.

Cautious optimism ;)

Well, the SSN was free to apply for and I didnt have to provide an envelope for it... soooo would the US government cover the cost of mailing it to me registered?? I dunno, I dont wanna get all worked up. This is so frustrating, wish I had a fast foreward button!!

I would almost say they would just send it fed mail with return service but im not sure since your not currently in the USA... I am leaning towards huggles idea with this one and that its your visa.. Generally the expresspost envelopes wont be left at a house or apartment if the mail carrier is a smart person and it will be left with the post office (specially if its signature required and you werent home) where as SSN mail is just left in the mail box in a regular size envelope, unless its determind undeliverable for whatever reason where they send it back to the SSN office.

Lol im curious to see what it is now too, I know all about let downs and trying not to get excited. Comes with the job of being a military wife lol. Cant plan anything, cant get excited. But its always good to have some excitement hidden away beneath a smerk for that " just incase " time when it really turns out to be what it is. Ill keep my fingers crossed for ya in that it is the visa. Just try not to pull out the last of your hair lol.

I wish I could remember but I can't :hehe:

I got my SSN from the Montana office, because that is where they send them from for applicants in Alberta (had to go to the Calgary consulate to apply).

I do know that even for my U.S. passport the Consulate in Calgary just sent it regular mail.

Good luck!!

AAAAAH!! The suspense is KILLING ME!! Her passport and CRBA arrived in xpress post envelopes that I had to self address and supply. Im fairly certain he said to me the SSN would arrive later in regular post, because I still asked if I needed that to cross the border with her and he said no. So we spoke about sending it to my moms house, incase I had left.

But I havent heard back from the congressional office... sheesh. What if its WORSE??? what if its a denial letter, or theyre sending my passports back... ugg :bonk:
