As far as I can tell, the tourist visa would be the fastest route to go. Since one of you is a U.S. Citizen, there are the other immigration visa types, but I doubt you'd be able to get one before the K-1 period is up. If you do decide to go the tourist visa route, you might be able to include a copy of the NOA1 or other pertinent information to show that the reason for the visa application is clearly for the wedding.

Hopefully others with more experience in this area will chime in. In the mean time though, it's probably wise to start to put together the necessary information you'll need for the tourist visa (if you decide to go that route).

thank u! :)

have told my mom about it.

good luck to us april filers!

question for the day: "why after so long of finding my soul mate, i still have to wait before i can be with him?" :ot:

LOL I know the feeling re moving headache Ainee - so nice to meet you :)

I had a fully furnished home - luckily a rental but filled with everything you can imagine!! I spent 3 1/2 weeks with Ted in March and then we began the filing process when I returned home. But while I was away my flatmate moved out so I've terminated my lease and am moving in with a friend next weekend until I can return to Ted in Texas. I'm trying to whittle down my stuff to things to be shipped (and trying to keep that small due to cost), things I need until I go to Texas and will then have to cram into a suitcase and things to sell or dump. It has been quite the headache I agree!! But it's kept me occupied for another week so yay - now hurry up VSC!!! lol

I finally got my case # after I called the USCIS office. I didn't realize that they just mail the NOA1; I thought it was also emailed and it was 19 days before I found out. The address I put on the form was where I am living now which is overseas. Good thing I called because they don't mail to overseas addresses. So once I updated the address to where I will be living in the US, they gave me my case # and will send the NOA1 there.

One lucky thing was that they did go ahead and start processing the petition even though they couldn't mail the NOA1. It's a good thing to know for the few of us that are living overseas while applying for the K-1 for our fiance.

March 27, 2010 -- Mailed application to Vermont Service Center

April 1, 2010 -- Certified mail confirms delivery

April 19, 2010 -- Called USCIS to update address and got my case#, ie., NOA1

April 22, 2010 -- Touched

August 2, 2010 -- NOA2!!!

Oct 15, 2010 -- Received notification of interview date

Oct. 31,2010 -- Fly to Santo Domingo

Nov. 3, 2010 -- Interview -- VISA DENIED BECAUSE OF IMMIGRATION STATUS

Mar. 9, 2011 -- Received an email indicating the State Department has requested a review of our case

You might have been able to get your case # from the check you sent in (if you have access to your banking account online). At least things are going smoothly thus far for everyone. There doesn't seem to be too many April filers; month's practically over.

Any others out there?

Hello there,

I'm completely new to this blog/forum process, but I'm dying to talk about my visa journey. So here goes.

I filed my I-129F form on April 14, 2010 US Postal Service-overnight. The application was received the next day on April 15, 2010. The check was cashed on April 19th and I receive an NOA1 on April 21, 2010. Now I'm just waiting for instructions from the USCIS office regarding what needs to happen next, as they did not provide any on the first NOA1 notice.

I've been reading the various Forums on VisaJourney.com to get an idea of the types of K-1 Visa cases that are pending approval, and I have yet to read one case that is like another. It seems as if each case has its own special circumstances, which makes it difficult for me to make an educated guess about how my case will be processed.

Having said that, here are my questions. My fiancé (Morocco) and I (US Citizen) have not yet physically meet in person. We met on the Internet. So I made a passionate request to the USCIS office to have the requirement to physically meet within two years of filing the I-129F form waived due to financial hardship. I provided what I thought was pretty good evidence to support my claim of financial hardship, but I'm very anxious as to whether or not the adjudicator will feel that my claim of financial hardship is acceptable.

The other thing is I feel as if my fiancé and I have an advantage in this process, because my fiancé already has a valid alien number and ss number. It turns out that my fiancé was in the US for six years attending a college in MA. He completed his studies and received his degrees and returned to Morocco well before his Visa expired. I’m hoping that the fact that he had already lived in the US and doesn’t need to apply for an alien number or ss number will make the process easier for the adjudicator to approve because he already has a history of being in the US.

Please share your opinions regarding my thoughts on this process. I’d really appreciate whatever information you have to share regardless of whether it’s in our favor or not because “knowledge is power.”

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

LoveOverSeas

Also could someone please provide the full names for these acronyms. Thanks

I do not think there is any way around it, never have seen a waiver for that. If there is a waiver then You must file affidavit of support at interview stage before visa is issued or denied to prove that the alien fiance will not become a public charge if addmitted into the US, if your income is less than 125% of poverty line then you can have a co-sponsor file with you to help meet income requirement. If you are experiencing financial hardship that is going to be an issue also. Good luck and good bless  . PLease keep us posted as to the outcome of your K1 petition. From what I understand, the only way around not physically meeting is if it is an arranged marraige and you can document why for religious or cultural reasons a meeting before marraige is not allowed. The other issue you might have is the financial one as mentioned above so that's difficult. You need an affidavit to show that you have the financial support to bring your partner to the US. I wish you luck.
