Hi people

I have browsed many of the I 134 topics and have not found an answer to the following.

How does one co sponsor using the I 134....no where on the 134 does it specify co sponsor nor did I read anything in the instructions re: co sponsor.

1. Does one just fill out a 2nd I-134 form and send along with the one filled by the main sponsor(petitioner)

Any help in clearing this up would be appreciated.

2. A subject I do not really want to approach but I must get some clue as to options....Assuming all goes well and now it is time for adjustment of status....I-864 AOS does not meet criteria and no chance for sufficient help from a co sponsor. Is the alien spouse then required to leave the US? What are options. Quite frankly it seems #### backward.I do not anticipate this scenario but I hate bad surprises.

Again any clarification is graciously welcome.

Most embassies will allow you to use a co-sponsor for the I-134 (you would need to check with them).

1. They would fill out their own I-134, with their own evidence, along with the petitioner (as you stated).

2. If you cannot find a co-sponsor (or joint sponsor) for the I-864, then your AOS attempt will likely fail, and the beneficiary will have to leave the US, since the 485 will be denied, due to lack of required documentation.

The only options for you is to either, a) get more income/savings/assets in place prior to the AOS, or b) find another co-sponsor for the 864.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Two I-134's is the ticket if the Consulate will allow it. You don't mention which country.

It's only backwards if leave your life decisions to the government. One of your options is to wait until you can adequately support an immigrant spouse before you embark on the journey of bringing them here. You know, backwards from what you seem to have chosen to do.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Thank You all for the information you have provided. I will certainly call the embassy to see if they allow it.

Much appreciation to those who limited their response to the questions and not the anxiety in my post.

Some times life presents a situation where the BEST choice is not on the list and one must make the RIGHT choice.

I would gladly eat beans each and every day so that she could have 3 meals a day (every day). I would also drink tap water so she could drink safe water each day and not have to be concerned about Typhus etc.

Thanks Again To All

It may be worth reading the embassy website as well.

If you care to divulge the country then you will be able to get specific feedback for your fiancee's interview.

K1 is a non-immigrant visa, hence the I-134. Not meant to be a permanent source of support.

I-864 is a binding contract when the petitioner/applicant is allowed to immigrate. That's why K visas require both as the process moves forward.

Best of luck.
