Hi

We have been waiting more than 5 months (since NOA1 in mid October) to receive the NOA2 from the California center.

When we check "My Case Status" online at www.uscis.gov we get...

Your Current Case Status for Form I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E): "Initial Review"

Is it normal for this to take so long? www.visajourney.com shows 65 days as being the NOA1 to NOA2 time for California.

Can we call the center to find out what is happening?

Many thanks.

Don't panic, its coming. Each service center goes at their own pace. Similar thing happened with us. Just take this time to gather your paperwork for the interview. There is still lots to be done so use your time wisely. Just my opinion. Good luck on your journeyrose.gif Also filling in your timeline will help others to see where you are in the process so they can help you!

Hi Chloro

I cant tell what country of the beneficiary so cant assume its the UK. However the processing time for california is averaging between 90 to 110 days. You havent yet had an RFE (request for evidence) which is usually the reason for a hold up at this stage. If you did it would say on the site. Your NOA1 form should have a contact number on there. I would try and contact them by phone and or email. There is a toll free number

1-800-375-5283 you can dial from within the USA. This is a general customer service line I am not sure if it will help with specific case information. However re-read your NOA1 form to check if there is contact information. In my opinion 5 months is over the normal time frame for a NOA2 and its possible theres been an admin oversight or an RFE is pending. At this stage it is better to do something than nothing as it will make you feel better and you might actually get an answer. Stick at it and I wish you well.

we apply in California Center, we had 105 days in the same state "Initial Review" so my fiance decided to call them and although we were not given any news or information, the next day we had great news, we got our NOA2. I recommend to you call them

We can all make a difference. Please recycle

Thank you for all the comments - this is helpful.

I have called them (very polite, friendly and helpful). However, as I am not the petitioner, they can't act on my call. When my fiancee is back in town she can call. They said that the agent can send a message to the officer looking after our case to ask why things are taking longer than expected. Then the officer will reply by email to my fiancee (within a few days) to explain and perhaps give a sense of how long it will take.

I will complete the timeline, as suggested!
