You should be fine, I don't believe psoriasis is grounds for inadmissibility and it will not result in a failing medical. Just bring his medication and any reports from your MD if applicable by the time of the interview.

This is what I found from an online search:

Under the U.S. immigration laws, the medical grounds of inadmissibility are divided into four categories:

• Communicable disease of public health significance

• Lack of required vaccinations (for immigrant visa applicants only);

• Physical or mental disorders with harmful behavior

• Drug abuse or drug addiction

Psoriasis is not a communicable disease. it's sort of like ekzema. I have it on the base of my hairline. it only flairs up when i get stressed. I dont see why the doctor would fail him for it. your son is at an age where hormones etc can make the skin etc wonky.

I would just show the cream to the doc say it's being treated and not worry too much.

that is the link to the nvc medical info. it might help.

Just have your own Doctor write a note about the condition and about how it's recently cropped up.

I'm not sure if its common practice anymore because I'm seeing a lot of people asking medical questions, but when I had my medical a couple years ago at Dr Seiden in TO, I went to my own Dr first who wrote a comprehensive note about how long I had been his patient, what (if any) medical issues I had and was being treated for (I have ovarian cysts so I used birth control pills...that kind of thing) and anything I had been treated for in the past. I'd recommend everyone get that from their family Dr if they can so that there are no unanswered questions at your medical.

My Dr charged me $20 or 25 to write the note and one for my daughter as well.

From what I've seen on here, the doctor is mainly concerned that you are aware of the issue and that you are being treated for it. If you were to provide Dr. Seiden a letter from your doctor explaining the condition and what your son is taking, I can't imagine it being much of an issue.

I have asthma, and when I went for my medical I just explained how long I've had it and what I take. I didn't bring a letter from my doctor or any other explanation than my verbal declaration and didn't have an issue with that. He did however, want to see my inhaler.
