O.K., yes I am procrastinating today... at least for a bit. Have a totally off-topic q's for you...

Any of you out there know why my "emergency mehndi" is wearing off faster and faster these days? :D

I put some on my feet last week to keep me smiling and it's already faded away. Does it have a shelf life? Closed vs. open? It's the stuff in the cone-tubes. First time I got Nadia brand, this one in Singhar. anywho...

It's such a fun way for me to keep light through this all. Just put some crazy designs on my feet again. Makes me laugh and smile and think of my love. I feel like the teenagers that showed me how to do this in Pak!

Alright - now to get some work done...

Hope everyone has a great week!

I think it does have a shelf life - so I hear anyways... one tip I'd always hear growing up was to put a teaspoon of vinegar in the mix, and then leave it on your skin as long as you can and it should be a deeper shade of red and last longer... I've never done it on my feet though, only my hands...

Mendhi I have also heard does have a shelf life; they said the fresher the longer it lasts is what I was told. Also, when I had mine done it was put on very thickly and I had to sit and let it dry and crust over and then wash it off. Good luck on getting it to work and last longer. When I was in Pakistan and got married I was not cleaning and doing things around the house so it lasted but once I got back to the states it wore off fastly since I was doing the dishes and continually doing household chores.

Omid, I wish I could be there in the airport to clap and shout horray when he arrives! You must be bursting at the seams right now!

I'll try the vinegar. Too bad us women aren't all closer to get together and do our feet. It's such a great way to connect and share. I really appreciated it when my Urdu was so weak and the women I was with didn't speak much english. Had to laugh when they would bring me food to eat while they were doing my hands though!!! How are you supposed to do that??

Mary, Ali just called, said to say hello and congratulations to you two. :)
