Double-Sided Printing and E-mails

Hi everyone,

Does USCIS prefer things to like the I-129F form be printed single or double-sided? I couldn't quite find anything that concretely says anything about this and became curious.

The other question I have is for when one is printing out the e-mails for showing an on-going relationship. Is it all right to use a black marker to mark-out the e-mail addresses or does this information have to be left visible? Also, is it all right to print these e-mails double-sided? I'd like to print double-sided (if possible) so I can save on paper, but was curious what others might have done.

Thank you.

The official forms should be one sided. Regarding emails....there not all that important so if you are worried about privacy you could scratch them. I personally would leave them visible though.

Hi!

I don't think they have a preference, but I printed my 129-F double-sided, as well as all evidence for the ongoing relationship. Our petition was approved, so it's up to you. :D

I would suggest leaving the addresses visible because you have to provide them with your email address (USC) in Part D of the I-129F form anyways. Also, if your email addresses include your names (or part of your names) in it, that just helps to reaffirm proof that the emails are to/from each other. USCIS is going to know a lot about you during this process, so privacy is out the window.

Hope this helps! :star:

They are going to be dealing with a two-hole punched file system, so be easy on them and print anything one-sided. They don't like standing on their heads to read things. If you have to scratch something out on an email, choose another one. Definitely, DO NOT scratch out an email address. Yes, I've actually seen a visa blue slipped for a redacted email. When the original was submitted along with additional relationship evidence, the visa was issued. I doubt you would see this problem in Japan but in high fraud countries, redacting is a bad idea.

Heheheh! I know, right?! Plus can you imagine how USCIS must feel when they get a front-loaded petition with hundreds of pages of emails, chats, etc. printed single-sided. I'm sure they're just thrilled. heheheh!!!

Well, there goes my hopes of using less paper. :) It was just the e-mail addresses that I considered marking out, but I guess it's not that much of an issue. Thank you for the informative answers!

Save paper by printing fewer emails. Examples over time are fine.

We printed everything one-sided and we did edit things out of our chats. Well, ok, painted them black.

There were absolutely no problems with our visa issuance and, at the same time, I didn't feel like a USCIS employee should read just about anything about or from our lives. Unfortunately, we had to share with them much more than I normally would like to, in the first place.
