Where there any of you who had your medical exams done for the I-693 that was totally covered by your insurance? I wondering if this is possible? My husband has insurance. That way we don't have to pay this out of pocket.

Couple of ways that may be possible.

1. Your insurance allows out of network doctors.

2. Your CS is in your network.

Plus, the CS has to be able to take your insurance -- and your beneficiary has to be on your insurance (obviously)

All though, every health insurance plan is different - so have your husband check with his HR. (also may want to see if there is a deductible)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Here's what I did. I went to the county health department for TB skin test. I also took all the required vaccines there for 15 USD each shot. All these records were brought to the Civil Surgeon who insisted to do blood work before signing my form I-693. His clinic costed me 129 USD. I suggest though that you shop around for the cheapest Civil surgeon in your area and then ask them if your husband's insurance could be used. Get the list of civil surgeon in your area through the USCIS website.

I copied this from a member's post. Try to ask him how was it possible that his vaccinations were paid by the insurance

Mostly November filers received the I-693 RFE http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...6532&st=165 ... you can ask and read what they did. Mostly they already responded to the I-693 RFE.

Good luck, I paid $70 for another transcription plus vaccination expenses were paid by the insurance and I think $150 for full medical at Mid-Way Family Clinic...but we do not know if they will ask you to have another vaccination like me.

We also had the on-insurance doctor do Nik's vaccinations when he got here, so we didn't pay for those. We didn't ask if the CS could be done on insurance, just assumed not.
