An 11-year-old girl has become a mother after going into labor during her wedding to her teenage boyfriend.

Kordeza Zhelyazkova was still wearing her wedding dress and tiara when she arrived at hospital and gave birth to little Violeta.

The schoolgirl, from Sliven, Bulgaria, became pregnant within just two weeks of her 11th birthday.

She gave birth last week with 19-year-old husband Jeliazko Dimitrov at her side.

"I'm not going to play with toys any more — I have a new toy now," Kordeza told Britain's News of the World newspaper. "She is so beautiful, I love her. Violeta is the child and I must grow up. I am not going back to school — I am a mother now."

Kordeza met Jeliazko in the playground of her gypsy school when he rescued her from bullies. Their daughter was conceived within a week.

"I haven't had sex education classes and I didn't know how to get pregnant," Kordeza admitted. "I'd never had a boyfriend and I'd never heard of condoms. I didn't know I was pregnant until my grandmother saw I had put on weight. I just thought I'd eaten too many burgers."

If she was Bulgarian, I'd be surprised, but when reading she met him at her gypsy school, is one of the times I regret I've been born in this country. Bulgaria is a beautiful country. I'm trying not to be racist but it is hard not to be when things like these are putting a shame on the name of my country. Wherever Bulgarian people go in Europe, other countries' citizens don't like us because they've seen enough from gypsies and are fed up and think Bulgarians are the same. I hate when I see how the Government is taking so good care of this "minority" that do not wish to work, steal, break into people's houses, but still is treated better than Bulgarian citizens in their own country, I hate to see that Government still build houses for them and pays them social insurance for unemployment, and gives them free health care - money that come from my mom's and dad's pocket while they are struggling with the economy. And this girl didn't know she was pregnant, she just thought she's eaten too many burgers, hahahahaha, yeah right - when there are so many Bulgarians starving because the economy is getting worse and worse... :angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::protest:

Wow... If I ever find out some 19 year old is trying to hit on my baby I'd break both his legs.... (Fine not litterally but I'll send my (then) husband) XD

This is just horrible... a child having a child. Just like my little sister who is 17 and pregnant. I think every girl should start anticonception from the moment they start menstruating. Which I will do with my own daughter(s) Just my opinion...

Love is patient and kind;

it is not jealous or conceited or proud;

love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable;

love does not keep a record of wrongs;

love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth.

Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail.

Love is eternal.

On the market: Teenage Gypsy girls glam up for annual bride sale

By Caroline Graham

Last updated at 8:58 AM on 10th March 2009

Dressed in their finest clothes and gold jewellery, thousands of teenage Roma girls were paraded around by their parents this weekend - at an open-air brides market.

Wearing lots of make-up, the teenagers came to the traditional annual market in Bulgaria, hoping to find a husband - and preferably one willing to pay a large amount of money for his future spouse.

article-1160669-03CBBB84000005DC-705_468x450.jpg Pick me: A girl on offer dances during a traditional wedding ceremony at the open-air market

'We take our daughters to this gathering so they could get acquainted with boys, for we do not allow our children to go to discos,' explains Elena from Kapitan Andreevo.

At the market in the village of Mogila near Stara Zagora, the price of a beautiful young woman is said to be several thousand levs/euros.

article-1160669-03CBBE91000005DC-158_468x408.jpg Special offer: A mother poses with her daughter hoping to attract a wealthy husband

Younger siblings came along too to play and eat sweets while one newly-wed couple bellydanced on top of an old car to show their happiness at finding a match.

Several wannabe-brides joined in, showing their eagerness to be married.

article-1160669-03CBBDD8000005DC-661_468x399.jpg Golden opportunity: Girls at the event wear plenty of make-up and their best clothes

The event takes place on the first Saturday after the start of the orthodox Easter fast - the Day of Saint Todor, or Horse Easter.

article-1160669-03CBC0A3000005DC-896_468x647.jpg On top of the world: The market is also a chance for newly-married couples to celebrate a match by dancing on cars and drinking spirits

This year the gathering attracted some 2,000 people who came from all over southern Bulgaria including Plovdiv, Pasardzhik, Sliven and Jambol.

I don't think that part for Holland is true......... Here kids are allowed to have sex at any age (unless the partner is 18+) I think it's up to the parents to set rules for that....

To be honest, I think a country shouldn't make it illegal to have sex at a certain age. How unbareble it is. It is up to the parents to educate their children on "waiting for mr/mrs right"

i hear you....it seems that roma have a bad reputation almost everywhere in the world. i remember when i was 12 or so, my siblings and i would throw rotten apples at tsiganis who would come to beg at our doors every friday. we did this because one time when we actually did give them something, my brother and i happened to walk down the street and noticed the same woman and 2 kids getting into a new mercedes benz :wacko: and this is in the early 1990s of Russia, mind you!

those sob stories were always so wonderfully constructed. in reality, that woman was probably more well off than you and me combined....it's going to take a long, long time for this issue to be resolved....and it also brings up questions of whether assimilation is a potential answer or should there be effort to keep their culture intact, but if a lot of it is harmful then what to keep/what not to keep?

confusing.

the EU has an office that deals with Roma affairs too...

lol, well as you know i love one Roma which is Azis :blush::lol: and Jony Iliyev...but they are just musicians...not ordinary folk.

Not much different here. Wait until you get a job in the USA and start paying taxes. You'll soon see the same sort of thing going on here. There is always someone else who is making a profit from your wages.

Oh, I've learned that already. I've been living in US for the past 6 years and paid taxes and Medicare/Medicaid, and now, when I came back to US after the CR-1 process, and pregnant, not working, I was denied Medicare (MassHealth) because my husband's income is over the poverty level with few thousand dollars, regardless of the fact that every MA resident has to have medical insurance... :angry::angry::angry: Then I asked the operator why was I paying for it all these years if it won't benefit me now, or it doesn't make me eligible anyway because I haven't been a GC holder for the past 5 years??? :angry::angry::angry:

It's something that happens every year all the time. Gypsies buy gypsy girls no matter of the age. At some parts of Bulgaria, where it's known only gypsy population to be living there, gypsies live much better than Bulgarians (benefiting form the taxes my parents are paying so that minority could live better and not feel threatened and rejected :protest: )

Also, may be 80 % of these gypsy females are prostituting on the roads of Bulgaria and other European countries, trying to screw someone for literally 5 bucks. What was my husband's surprise when we arrived in Bulgaria and were driving to my birthplace, to see all these prostitutes on the highway, while meanwhile he was saying how beautiful the nature is... :o

And it's not the country that does not educate them, they simply do not want to go to school. If the Government decides not to pay them social insurance anymore, they will start robbing people, burgling houses, kill... (which they'd do anyways) :angry: If you go shopping at the market, they'd attack you from all sides, pulling your clothes and bags and stealing whatever they grab. They'd stand in front of your car while you're waiting on an intersection at a red light, and will attack your car until you don't give them some money. Oh, I hate them :angry::angry::angry:

there's a bit of an update on this one

An 11-year-old girl has become a mother after going into labor during her wedding to her teenage boyfriend.

Meanwhile, the father of the baby faces jail time.

Jeliazko is facing up to six years behind bars for having sex with a minor.

"I'm scared. I want to look after my wife and child. Instead I may be going to prison," he said.

"I made a mistake but I am not going to apologize for that because now I have beautiful Violeta."

I had re-read the blurb and the thing that struck me as 'totally odd' was that

SHE asked HIM out on a date, first. Then they both got busy within that first week.

Oh Well. Still vomit-sick, to me.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Jeliazko is facing up to six years behind bars for having sex with a minor.

"I'm scared. I want to look after my wife and child. Instead I may be going to prison," he said.

"I made a mistake but I am not going to apologize for that because now I have beautiful Violeta."
