Oh, I see. Love the sinner, and hate the sin? In the minds of the supporters, if you don't like Obama, then it follows that you hate him because he is Black, or a socialist, or some other excuse, because being a "hater" is the only reason you would have for trying to stop the good he is doing for the country.

That's some tortured logic there.

This thread is about a Fourth Grader asking a very simple question: "Why Do People Hate You?"

My response is just as direct and simple. Some people really do hate him -- with the full force of the word hate. Some of them post here on VJ quite a lot.

Lots of other people either like him, are ambivalent, or dislike him. Even dislike him strongly. But I think the number that actually hate him, in the sense that he's evil incarnate, is a relatively small number. I doubt it's 39%.

Even Fox News' own poll has higher approval numbers than Rasmussen's (by a full 8% according to RealClearPolitics' current "poll of polls"), which probably means they're using Rasmussen's numbers more than their own, since they have an agenda to push. Further, there's a clear conflict of interest with their numbers in that Scott Rasmussen was a paid consultant for the Bush campaign in 2004. I'd say they're far from "reliable".

Perhaps that he is an outlier in many polls, yet his numbers cut closer to the bone when the results comes it, explains his reputation as the most accurate pollster in the industry. He uses a differrent weighting method that comes closer than the competitiion on election day.
