I know you didn't. That's why it ticks me off so bad when there's tons of people swarming in to tell you basically that you need to suck it up. I'm sure that everyone here knows that complaining wont do a bit of good as it's out of all of our control. Must be the southern girl in me showing it's nasty side!

Patience might be the name of the game, but it still doesn't change the fact that this is a stressful situation. Flashing your "I've been waiting so-and-so many months longer than you!" card isn't going to make ANYONE get approved faster(and I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about people who post like that in general). It's just going to cause hurt feelings and make some posters feel like they shouldn't post at all. That's just not right.

In a perfect world this would go in order. Everyone would get approved in the order it came in. I wish it were like that. But it's not. We should all be supportive and be the shoulder to lean on for those who are getting frustrated, not be the first ones in line to tell them to suck it up because it's going to be a longer wait.

Like I said there are better things to be preparing for then just freaking out. We are all stressed and until the OP has something more legit to be stressed about he's gonna hear some "Suck it up" type responses on VJ (Believe me I have had some myself). This early in the process is really no reason to worry about the USCIS loosing his petition, I'm willing to bet money that they haven't. He's posting in a public forum and can expect unadulterated opinions when he does so. There is nothing in the TOS that says responses to posts have to be nice or sympathetic.

We are all sad and lonely without our S/O but complaining isn't gonna make it come any faster. Being prepared, asking questions for the next steps, and knowing what to do when you don't hear a response in the given time will help more.

But if the OP wants to feel bad for himself and worry to death then by all means be it. Just don't be surprised when there is less then desirable responses.

Haha, it is funny that you say to be prepared. We already have EVERYthing printed out. Forms already completed, etc. All we need is a green flag. I have already read all of the forums here about the next steps and what to expect.

I guess it just makes some people feel better to complain about other people "complaining". If that is what gets some of you through the day.. I can take it. My mom taught me that if you don't have anything nice to say, you shouldn't say anything at all. I guess she never warned me that the rules were different on public forums.

I am super happy though to have "met" those of you who don't discount other's stressing, impatience, or feelings just because you may have been waiting longer. And, to those who would have ugly things to say to those of us who are "newer" and stressing, I say, "nah ne nah ne boo boo."

Bing Bam.. Turkey and Ham.

Good night.

You are right, she does. We should all pray, wish, hope, keep our fingers crossed, etc. for her. I will do the same for you.

Exactly the person I was thinking of too....

Listen, I'm not here to argue with you. If you need my help with anything I have dealt with this far I'll be more then happy to help you. I think we all have more important things to do then bicker on the internet.

Again, good luck and smooth sailing.

Yeah... I would only look up your number and call it a day. I think the site says something about not misusing it, right? Plus, not all of those are fiance visas, surely.

I waited months for my NOA2 (4 of them). I hope the process has improved that much.

I know that u can feel frustrated by this process........u can drive ur self crazy checking ur case status on the web site......and a lot of times it does not feel fair.....this process takes time for some of us more time than others and yup we miss our s/o .........welcome to immigration its worse than dealing with the IRS at least they tell u how much they are going to make u pay lol.......... asking questions from any of the customer service numbers might make us feel better but they dont know anymore than what our status shows on line.

try to find something to keep busy with......that makes the time go past and allows u to keep some peace of mind :)

ur on the best forum there is for immigration......the information u will gain here can not be purchased from an attorney....

just kind of set back and watch and see how things work here........its just like becoming a new member of any family....takes time to get used to the way that people answer in humor or being sarcastic ..........all in all u cant ask for a better bunch of people to be on ur side in this nightmare called immigration.....

welcome to the family (F)

You've only started the wait...it will come. I know it is frustrating seeing only people approved but you really haven't waited all that long. Take the time to spent time with family and friends if your the beneficiary. Good luck.

I know its frustrating and annoying, and that you feel lost and confused, but you need to remember as my mum has been telling me since my now husband and I started this process. This is a step you go through together, so what you are feeling your partner all the way on the other side is feeling as well. Use it to make your relationship stronger, talk to him/her about the things that you want to do when you are together, make a list of places in america to take them, or make a list of things they would like at "home" to make their new home feel that way. And work on those things you can semi control whilst USCIS does the rest.

Im not going to preach to the choir about the horrors that can be involved in the K1 case but you must remember, on the USCIS website the processing time says (I believe) at current 5 months, nobody will take you seriously until you have been past that point (Nor will they after as we found out). However If your worried that they have lost your application, you can call and check the status of your case with your case number, however just remember the person you get at the other end of the phone is only going to read off to you what you can read at home on the internet.

For Chris and I the last 14 months of our relationship have been really tough, and will only get tougher this week as we start the application process over as husband and wife, but it has made as strong. It has made us realise that being together is the end goal no matter where it is, it has taught us that we can talk about anything, that we can talk to one another for hours on end and not run out of things to say, even if we sat on the phone for 8 hours a day 4 or 5 days a week for 6 months (Yay for Skype, if you don't have it get it - it will save you so much money). And I know it sounds stupid, because this process p***** me off as much as the next person, but there are some things about our relationship I may have never learnt if our process was easy, and once we get through this, everything else on the horizon seems so much easier, simply because we will tackle it physically together instead of just mentally and emotionally.

I wish you the best of luck for a speedy approval, just remember that no matter how long or short the journey is the goal at the end is just as sweet.

This time last year it was taking 5-6 months on average for the NOA2. Ours took almost 5 months and that wasn't too bad at the time. I'm always really shocked when I look at the progress this year and seeing people stressing out over a month or less. But then I guess if the processing times have really gone down in the past year, it's easy to get caught up in expecting your approval sooner.

Be patient. The poster above me waited 7 months before her case was confirmed to be lost. Yours is doing fine, especially seeing as you were touched not too long ago.

So if you look at the OP's timeline, they've been approved now and already received by NVC. Can I jump on the bandwagon and whine instead? We've waited WEEKS longer than she did. I swear everyone who filed in August has received NOA2s and RFEs except us. :(

Sure, whine all you want.. but whining to people here will not help, you need to whine to USCIS...
