Hi guys. I am using Fedex to send documents needed by my fiance. Fedex Rep mentioned the

possibilty there might be duty or fees or something.

Anyone have experience with this?

Thank you.

We never had to pay any kind of duty for documents, but did on other things with value like chocolate or cell phones.

I send by fedex all the time. I have not encountered any duties or fees. On the declaration section of the waybill, I put "documents" for the description and a declared value of $1. Unless you put money or objects of greater value in the envelope, $1 declared is ok. If you put say jewelry or mone in with you documents, then you should probably declare it's value in case your pacage is opened by customs. And in that case, you or the recepient might have to pay a duty on the item.

Can you scan the documents to PDF to send them for the fiance to print? That's what I was going to do with my tax returns, etc to avoid the $80 cost FedEx wanted.

Fiance sent some presents last month for my birthday and he needed to declare the value in case it might get lost. I paid a little less than Php 5000 for the custom fee. No fee if it's only document.
