Always neat, and always single malt, Laphroaig in particular. Johnny Walker Blue Label or of course Chivas are acceptable blended scotches.

:thumbs: You are a man after my own heart. We really should leave these rotgut swillers to their own devices, and go out for a drink.

But you guys are NOT giving The Glenlivet Scotch its due. Attractively priced, Single malt, and tastes damn good!

The Glenlivet is indeed a very fine malt. I had the great pleasure to have been given a bottle of 15-year Glenlivet as a wedding gift last month.

I still prefer Islay malts, though, over Highlands or Speysides. There's a much more complex texture to Islays. People speak romantically about the sea, the salt, the brine, the heather, and the peat all mixing in the patiently aged barrels of the Islays. I'm not sure about all that, but you can easily distinguish an Ardbeg or a Caol Ila from each other, as well as from Highland Malts. Each is unique and wonderful.
