Hey Everyone,

I'm now in the U.S. and preparing to send off my AOS package but I'm confused concerning the form I-693. I understand that I don't need to have another medical since my previous medical was completed in July of this year, however, when I've approached the civil surgeons (here in the States) to complete the I-693 Vaccination portion, they refuse and tell me I must allow them to perform the entire medical all over again. I'm not interested in spending another 275 on a medical when I received mine last month.

The Panel Physician who administered my medical in Canada gave me a copy of my immunization history so I do have a record stating that I'm up to date. What would you recommend I do? I'm in Miami so if any of you adjusted in my area, please tell me what doctor you dealt with.

Any advice is appreciated.

You don't need a new medical. The docs are just trying to scam you out of money and time.

You only need the vaccine info transferred. (some don't even do this, they just mail in the consulate vaccine form - some get RFEs, some pass through ok).

We had a civil surgeon in Portland, OR do the I-693 transcribing. He does it for K visa holders for $15. Others on this forum have used Dr. Arnold in Texas (via mail). However, the fine print on the I-693 form says you have to sign it in front of the doctor, so if USCIS challenges it, using a remote doctor may not work.

Best of luck.
