taxi ----- my guess dependent on time of day is about 30 - 40 minutes and maybe a cost of about $30 (but that was several years ago)

there is some sort of bus, it will be cheaper but also take a longer

Hi... I have been travelling to the United States since I was a child and always entering the JFK. Normally, your airline should be able to accommodate your transfer request to La Guardia through airport shuttle service. I would suggest you taking that as you are really sure of your destination. Just make sure you have enough time for catching your connecting flight. I would presume you have however.

30-40 minutes is correct, however the price is now a little higher...expect to pay around 50 to 60...The shuttle is definitely a cheaper option..... Airlines usually do not accomodate you...they tell you to take a taxi..(been there, done that even when holding a 1st class ticket)...

P.s.: Don't forget to pick up all your lugage at JFK and take them with you...the airline will NOT transfer it to La Guardia...

Good luck

$50 to $60 between JFK and La Guardia? If you are a taxi driver, you are dreaming. If you are a passenger, you have been ripped off.

The flat rate from JFK to Manhattan is $45. Therefore, to La Guardia it has to be maximum $30. I did it once and I think I paid just that, including tip.

The cabs charge a $50 fee just to go to the airports now. If you're feeling adventurous you can try the buses. I lived in Queens for 2 years and could not stand the buses. There is no subway from LGA to JFK unless you want to walk a bunch of blocks to catch the N or the 7 from LGA and Transfer to the E to the Airtrain..... Your best bet is a cab. Good luck.

thank u guys for replying,,,god bless u all

I paid $17 for my bus ticket in March 2009 to go from JFK to LGA. The ladies working for the airport helped me make sure I didn't miss it and the bus driver was kind of rude lol. But it was a fascinating experience for me.

January 2009 - K-1 Denied by the consulate

January 2011 - Moved to India - Yikes!

October 2011 - DCF filing rejected by overzealous employee at the embassy

December 2011 - Tourist visa denied (not surprising)

March 2012 - CR1/IR1 process started

May 1, 2012 - RFE and some of our information was entered into the computer wrong by the CSC

Cabs to LGA are not fixed rates, they are standard metered rates, so it will vary based on time of day/traffic and other things. Should run around 30 bucks, but you never know. One option is NYAS (new york airport service), they run shuttle buses departing every half hour from JFK to LGA, costs $13, takes about an hour to get there.
