QUOTE (flames9 @ Jul 13 2009, 11:47 AM)

Canada hires a lot of Students to act as Border agents during the summer!! Sorry about ur bad incident

Are you serious? We have summer students in our office and some of them can hardly put 2 and 2 together and they are leaving it up to student's to decide on someone's immigration fate?

Sad but true. I have never been a fan of the summer student program. Granted there has been a few good students that have eventually got hired on as a regular officers and are very good officers but there are lot of students that are total idiots and I find it embarassing that they wear the same uniform as myself. The student program is soon to be a thing of the past though with the arming initiative - thank goodness. Sorry to hear of your bad experience bowflex - hope that it will be an isolated incident for you and your wife and you are welcome to visit Canada next time.

Yes! I win! haha

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I'm just uncomfortable with the idea of having 18 year olds work at the border and screen people. I think that's too young to be doing a job that involves immigration matters.

Oh God I can only imagine the myspace and facebook pictures of them in their booth pulling a gun on someone trying to go over the border to enjoy some poutine Lol.

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

Actually, a few years ago there were a couple of incidents where the students were making comments on facebook about how they couldn't wait until they got a gun and got to shoot someone. Needless to say their asses got canned and it made another big point for our Union to pressure for the elimination of the student program.

Excellent.

One of these days, people will realize that the internets is not annonymous. Until then, I will laugh heartily at the morons who get caught doing stupid sh!t and posting their exploits on facebook

Wow I still feel really young at heart but these types of stories keep reminding me that I'm getting older, who the ####### would ever do that? You work for the Government, they see EVERYTHING Lol

sounds like an ignorant border guard to me. maybe they are hiring mall ninjas or wal mart rejects, now.

the seperation of states that occured in what had been yugoslavia was an ugly process. too damned bad the treaty of versailles jammed them all together to start with. some very different kinds of people living in close proximity to one another, and once the gloves came off, cruelty had no limit, and suffering had no name. predrag kostic has a name, for a little while.
