My daughter's fiance is in the UK. He completed all the necessary forms and the medical exam. Is he supposed to mail a form in to alert the embassey that he is ready to have the interview or is it automactic that the embassy will send him an interview date?

If you haven't already, I suggest posting this in your regional forum.

For Jamaica, you have to mail/drop off the DS230 pt 1 before they will schedule the interview.

usually your (applicants) response to Packet 3 generates the appointment.. this depends upon the country...

Yes, he just mailed it in and I believe that must be the document that generates an interview. He has done everthing else but of course the embassy doesn't know what he has completed so I assume the only way that they will know is by him sending in the IV-15K checklist.

Do you know what the turnaround time is for an interview. The document that was sent to him stated that he has until 7 Aug 2009 to be married.
