information on k-1 process

hello all, i am looking for information on the k-1 process, we are just able to start the process and i was just wandering what we need to be prepared for, like all the different steps and average time to get the k-1, problems encountered and wether its worthwhile hiring an immigration attorney

They (the Guides) are your best/most-important step to begin with...

Takes about 6+-months (or so) - attorney's can help but most folks on VJ are/have done it on their own.
