so everything ran smoothly.....until....

not satisfied with:

fiances affidavit

employers letter

last 3 years tax returns

last 3 years w2s

last 8 payslips

co sponsors affidavit

letter confirming mortgage

copy of passport

...they then wanted a copy of her 2008 income tax return, which of course i didnt have!

on a brighter note, the guy was super nice and said she could email me a copy she has signed the front of and as soon as i have printed it out to call the courier and have it sent back to them with my passport.

He doesnt see a problem with issuing the visa once he has the form!!!!!! although i did wonder what it would show on it as i explained to him she is retired!!!

Hi everyone,

Just have a question, I just looked at an example Packet 3. It doesn't say anywhere on it that we need 3 years of tax returns and W2's. It says they need it for the most recent taxation year. Also, not sure where it says pay stubs. If we are to bring it, can anyone please tell me where it says that? That would certainly save a lot of work for my fiance because though it will be easy to find his most recent tax return, W2, he'll have to go digging for the other two years.

Any help will be appreciated!

i tried to cover all bases by having as much of my fiances information that i could.....i read on VJ about getting the last 3 years worth of info. its best to have it and not need it (look what happened with my co sponsors paperwork)

if he cant find the 2 years of prior info, his employer will hold his previous w2's and you can request the years tax returns you are missing from the irs.

As for the payslips i just threw them in there for extra evidence. The first clerk at the embassy that checked all my documents took them all and filed them in my folder....he seemed pretty impressed with all the papers i did have......if only i had been that thorough with my co sponsor..ugh! lol!!!

good luck!

You can call the IRS for the transcripts of previous years returns... The W-2.. now thats another story... should have them around anyway... many CO's will ask for us to go the extra mile in some areas... 3 years is not that common but not unheard of.

I have a problem with this as 1 year should be sufficient to show that the Petitioner meets the financial requirement.
