My wife does not miss much here in Hawaii. The weather is just as good and less hot than PI. Half the population is Ilocano, she is Ilocano. All the food she craves is here. The only thing she does miss, is the cheap prices. I wonder why Filipinos choose the most expensive places to live here in America?

What reminds me of Pinas are the tilapia (it's all fillet here). I still want the smaller ones and the crabs at the Oriental store we went to in NJ one time. Of course the rice that we eat everyday. I don't care if people (even my husband) say why we always eat rice. To each his own, I also don't question him why he eats medium rare steaks and mashed potatoes every time. Glutinous rice (fresh not powdered) and the banana (saba) cue. The mangoes here also reminds me of our "manggang kalabaw" but here it has a different taste. Not even close to our famous mangoes there.

Of course, the LRT and MRT that are full of people rushing and moving from place to place. The well decorated jeepneys (some of them out of line). It reminds me of my college days (matagal na rin yun sa FEU sa Recto). Those are fun memories that money can't buy. I am telling my two sons that I still love our country no matter what they say (good or bad). It's always like fiesta where people are warm and families are close even without money.

everytime we go to Asian store, or any pinoy store and restaurant, feeling at home na at home ako.. lalo na pag nakikita ko ang favorite kong UFC ketchup and Mang Tomas..heheh..

Gustong gusto ko din si Mang Tomas. Binibili ko yung malaking bote para mas matagal maubos. Sarap ikain sa fried or chicken barbecue. :star:

it remind me of pinas pag nakakarinig ako ng mga tagalog or bisayan speaking people here in hawaii, nakakakita ako ng filipino products...or filipino gulay...nung nakakita ako ng skyflakes crackers sa walmart sobrang natuwa ako yun sabi ko kay hubby bili tayo nyan kasi yan ang kinakain ko sa pinas then dip sa coffee or milo...pagtingin pa ng hubby ko sa nutritional facts ng skyflakes...sabi nya what? 20percent saturated fat?????? no way man im not gonna buy that...kaya yun pumili si hubby ng ibang crackers na healthy buti na lang nagustuhan ko kasi kung hindi his gonna end up eating it all or baka matapon lang.hehehhehe.

and it remind me of pinas pag nakakakita ako ng crazy people...marami din kasi yan dito kaso dito wow ang amoy...but ever since i got here ive never seen any street children.

My good friend from North Texas could have answered like this:

"My wife gets Homesick when she hears people speaking in Visayan. She is from Davao.

She does not eat Skyflakes because of too much saturated fat. She is a RN you know, and she knows about health.

Whe we go to the grocery and she sees Spinach, she is reminded of alogbati in Davao.

There are lots of smelly people here in Dallas also Especially the illegal Mexicans.

These illegal are just like some of the people in the Philippines. They like to eat at Pekpek carenderias.

Oh, I got to go! There is a Bass tournament today at Lake Fork. Maybe I'll win it again and go home with $20,000."

Pepe, I wonder where the hell is your good friend from North Texas nowadays? Hibernating maybe? What's with the Pekpek carinderias? Never heard of it.

decided to be naughty. Strawberry fields are everywhere in Sonoma County. Magsasawa ka dito Linda. Miss ko na rin ang pinapaitan.

"Our Wedding Prayer"

Lord, help us to remember when we first met,and the strong love that grew between us.

To work the love into practical things so nothing can divide us

Grant us a Love that grows stronger with each passing year.

We ask for words both kind and loving

and for hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive.

Guide us to overcome every challenge

and keep our dreams pure to each other always.

Dear Lord,we put our marriage into Your hands.Amen

If your heart acquires strength, you will be able to remove blemishes from others without thinking evil of them.
