I find when you switch carriers is when the luggage gets lost. This time I stayed with the same carrier the whole way, Delta, and my luggage made it just fine with tight connections even.

I flew Royal J the whole way from NY to Beirut, just a 1hr stop in Amman and my stroller went byebye---i guess they left it in ny.

Ive been flying with Saudi Air the past few times direct from Riyadh to NY and havent had any issues as of yet. I am worried about flying back over this way in Dec because we are going to Lebanon and there is no direct flights so I will be stopping over somewhere again. Really i dont like transfers.

Welcome back !

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Ive only had my stroller lost on Royal Jordanian. It arrived in Beirut a few days later----broke.

Hopefully your bags turn up soon.

And Maureen---how do you take a trip to the middle east without checked luggage??? My goodness id love to know. i always end up with 2 big suitcases at around 28kg each. Plus hang luggage.

LOL, i'm a good packer! plus i have a very huge bag (my purse would go in it as well) you're allowed two carry ons each. Both my kids went too so that gave me some extra storage...lol and I shoved some of my things in their bags as well.

I have had my luggage lost but returned the next day. Very nerve wracking.

Was your name and address on that luggage w/the airline tag?

I am sure you filed a claim already and keep calling to check up on it. It should turn up.

Welcome back (even though it is hard to be back without your baby) and good luck with your luggage.

Was that one or 2 pieces??

Welcome home at least you made it home, my bags were lost in London, but they arrived in Kansas the next day and the airline brought them to my work, thank god I had our marriage papers in them. One lesson learned never put anything of importance in a checked bag i a was very lucky.

I agree with Olivia, If you fly the same airline usually the problem doesn't seem to happen as much. But doing some recearch they loose thousands of bags each day. I truly hope you get it back, just keep calling your claim ticket if you reported in at the final destination and they will do what they can. At least in my experience they told me when my bag would arrive and gave me the option to pick it up at the airport or deliever so i chose the delievery to me at work, less hassle and no parking to pay at the airport.

I have never had my luggage lot but my friend that was traveling with me did. Also, my husband on his way here had his luggage delayed 24 hours. I'm thankful you made it home safely and had a nice time.

My luggage only got lost once. I was on Al Italia to Egypt and my flight to Italy arrived late so I missed my flight to Egypt. They stuck me on another one four hours later and one of my bags accidentally got sent to France, I guess. It was pretty bad, because I had brought one bag full of stuff to give for charity from people in my city and the other was my stuff. The charity bag was the one that came on time, LOL. I was walking around in sweatpants in really hot weather for two days. fail. :[

WB, had my luggage lost many times, one time I was to fly to Germany to LIVE, and when I got to New York, from San Francisco, they had lost my luggage, and I had a plane to catch to Germany, they did find it and sent it on it's way, and it was only a few days. Amsterdam, I freaking love that place, for me France is my nightmare, been pulled out of the line by 7 undercover french police, I thought I would be a guest for a while in France, not my fav place, but they have great health care.

Oh no! Damnit. Well, I will have my daughter with me this time, maybe I will seem less threatening?!

Thank you all! I have luggage!!!! whoohoo! They delived to my doorstep about 5am. I did not realize that lost luggage was so common, thats not good. Next trip I will fly Delta all the way, no changing carries etc.

I cant believe how much I miss Egypt, I know I was only there for a week, but I like it there, well, I like a lot of things about it. It was a real eye opener about how disrespectful people in the US can be.

We did have air condition in the bedroom, but not the whole house, and not in the taxi's. And when stuck in the 2 hour traffic jam with no air and NO leg room, I was certainly appreciative of my aircondition. :)

I will be posting some pics on my facebook page. :)

Yeah, lost luggage stinks but glad you got it back. I lost mine with my wedding dress in it! Don't EVER be so stupid as to put your wedding dress in luggage that could be lost! LOL! I learned the hard way. I was a mess until I got it back the next day.

Anyhow, I know how it is to miss Egypt. Seriously, I go back and forth about living there. Ahmed has told me numerous times just come. Although, money and schooling is always my concern. Sigh....as always, I can always visit.

Anyways....welcome back!
