Hi everyone! I have been following on this site ever since my fiance and i decided to get engaged and file for K1. It has been a month since he left from his second visit already, but he only filed the petition last week. When he was with me, we assembled the packet togther and made sure everything was in order (thanks to visajourney guide). However, I told him to enclose his birth certificate on the visa packet when he gets back to US. Since he can't find his BC, he sent copies of his passport instead. But then, he forgot to make copies of ALL pages, and just the biographic information on the first page with his signature, the stamps of exit and entry from his two visits, and the Philippine Visa he had on his passport since his second visit was more than 21 days in the Philippines. (it was a 3-month visit visa stamp to the Philippines which he filed at the Philippine Consulate in Florida).

Is it possible that we can get a RFE later since he forgot to send copies of ALL pages? I told him about this little problem but he asked me what do they need with BLANK pages of passport? Isn't the info page with signature and foreign country visa on his passport not good enough to prove that he is a US Citizen considering that on the foreign country visa it was indicated that his citizenship is US?

I hope you can give your opinion on this. Well, should they need ALL copies I guess we will be getting RFE then... But I just hate delays already. And I am sure everyone here knows how it feels to wait and be away from your loved one.

Thanks for your time!

Congratulations for your both! And hopefully you and your fiance are going to be together soon.

As for your question.... yes most likely an RFE will come. Many a VJ member couple had been asked for it mainly because of the concern you are presenting now. I know exactly how you feel. But hang in there, many miracles happen on a daily basis.

Life is beautiful!

Thanks BrianandMerne, congratulations for both of you too! This is the hardest part of all, WAITING. But I am sure it will all be worth it. I just need more patience and other things to do to occupy my time waiting.

Anyway, if anyone is reading this who got a RFE because they did not send copies of ALL pages in their passport and with no BC, please do give me a reply. It would give me a little peace of mind. (is this the right thread or forum to ask?)

A great day everyone!

Not only is it possible (that he will get an RFE) it is likely he will - not a problem though because it is an easy one. If he gets an RFE it would not delay the petition very long at all.

Reason for All pages... The pages are numbered so they want to see them all.

I agree with your husband. Why do they need blank passport pages?

We sent the bio page of my husband's (the USC) passport and that was all, no copies of stamps and no blank pages. We got an RFE but not for that. You're fine if you simply submitted the bio page of his passport

Good luck.

I see. Thanks you for that. Well, I told him to expect a RFE letter soon. I hope the delay won't be too long. But anything is possible. Like canadian_wife said, they even just sent the bio part and they didn't get RFE for that. Case to case basis I guess. Keeping my hopes up. Thanks guyz!

What's the difference between a long and short form of birth certificate? Is there a site for that? Can it be applied through phone?

Who knows why they need all teh pages... But many ajudicators have sent RFE's for less. It is such a case by case thing. It's best to be prepared with either a birth cert or copies of ALL the pages in case you need it. that way you can just immediately send it back and not wait on anything.

I agree,, why do they need the blank pages,,, Just be prepared if you get an RFE,,, if not then even better. Just keep in mind,,, when in doubt, send more documentation then needed.

Good Luck,

The entire passport is the legal document, not just the bio page. Also, they can't know the pages are blank unless you send them, that's why they want the whole thing.

It's possible they won't send an RFE, but you're right not to be surprised if they do.

Regarding the need to submit all pages, consider this: what if the USC had in his passport a marriage visa for another country, a country that was not that of the non-USC he was petitioning for, and for a marriage which had not been disclosed? I know it sounds far-fetched, but stranger things have happened.

I get your point elmcitymaven. And like what others said, it is considered a legal document requirement so they have to be sure as possible. I just have to wait then.

Processing time for VSC is a little delayed as compared to CSC at present. Well, let's hope for the best. The best time is God's time. Thanks everyone! I love this site and all who are members in it. You make this journey very enlightening for people who do not have a clue on what to expect. Keep it up!
