I can't recall precisely where, but I remember reading specifically that the marriage must be consummated.

There was a thread in OT last week or so ago about the member BabyBunny/ShonJaved. People were wondering what happened to her. It was well known that Shonnie had been waiting a very very very long time for her husband's visa to be granted.

Shon frequently stated that she and her husband had never been intimate. If memory serves I believe that fact had been disclosed to Consular Officers during the several interviews that occurred.

To be fair, there were other issues with the case which were probably giving pause to CO's. And I only bring up poor Shon's case because it is the only anecdotal one I am familiar with that had this 'problem'.
